Hi!

My cat is pregnant and is supposedly on the verge of giving birth. A few days ago, there was some pinkish discharge that came out of her (around 59th day) then she also had sudden bouts of diarrhea (around twice).

She's back to sleeping, and she's still eating normally. But I'm a bit nervous as I haven't seen her kittens move inside her. She is also jumping around again.

Is it normal for them to have diarrhea a few days before delivery?

And what are the usual signs of labor?

Kittens stop moving inside of mum a couple of days before delivery as they are running out of room and all lined up ready for birth!

Thank you so much, jemma01! I'm just a bit of a nervous wreck since this is the first time she's gotten pregnant.

Is the diarrhea normal though? I plan on taking her to the vet tomorrow just for a check.

She might have a upset tummy... have you changed her food recently?

I've been giving her the same food, Royal Canin Persian and some treats which she has been eating since she was a kitten.

this is how she looks like at the moment:

I'm not sure if the kittens have dropped but she's either lying down like that or lying on her side. The diarrhea just made me a bit nervous as she starts out with normal firm stool then finishes with diarrhea. :(

When my ragdoll had her kittens she has a lot of runny poo during brest feeding. The vet looked at her and said it might just be because she is breast feeding, had eaten the placentas, eating the kittens poo to tidy up, he was reluctant to give her anything as her behaviour hadn't changed and she was still happy and caring for her kittens. It cleared up as soon as the kittens were weaned.

Aww, that's good to hear! I'm hoping the diarrhea's just a sign of mild contractions, that she'll be in labor soon.

I'm getting so overly excited. :D

Hi! My cat gave birth on 09/07. Been a busy few days feeding the kittens and cleaning up after them. Thank you so much for your help!

First time mommy is doing great nursing her babies. :D
