I've tried cleaning his ears, w/a product that has Gentian Violet in it. There is crusty stuff outside his ear every day. He's shaking his head a lot. He's Only indoor. W/Leaukimia his immunities are compromised. When he shakes his ears, it seems liquid comes out.
Anyone know what this could be? Labor Day, Vets are closed...

I am sorry he is immunocompromised and to hear about this ear issue.

I really do think you need to get him to the Vet, tomorrow, ASAP. It must be very uncomfortable for him. Also, if it is a serious infection, then his hearing could be compromised...

Your poor baby has been going through so much. An ear infection is not what he needs right now. Ear issues are painful.. Please take him to the Vet. We cannot advise you here on what to do. He needs a Vet..

((hugs))

Thank you!!! You were correct. It was an infection, bacterial... Possibly new food?? But the new food I brought in was done 2 months ago??? I just bought another new food[emoji]128553[/emoji]!!! I may have to go back to our old stuff... I buy such expensive food, it's hard to think it cud be bad for him... Dr. Said minimal ingredients is the key... My poor baby.., he's on meds and pain meds so he's pretty dopey.... I was up a lot w/him last nite... I think the 'gunk' that built up was bothering him... I did put in a cuple drops of a good cleaner w/gentian violet (except it has alcohol-was painful)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONCERN AND WRITING ME!!! Bless you[emoji]128156[/emoji]

:wavey: Thank you!!! He indeed had/has an ear infection, w/a ton of pain!!! I have drops, and pain meds!!! So far he's pretty dopey a lot, but I think he's feeling better... Vet said bacterial, so possible any new food introduced.. But that was introduced 2 months ago??? Well, I'm going back to old stuff... I but almost most expensive food on market.... Just got another new one [emoji]128553[/emoji],
So, I guess I'll stick to what Vet says, minimal ingredients.... Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!!!! It means a lot to me!!!

He wouldn't have gotten a bacterial ear infection from his food, and he's been eating it for two months. He must have gotten some kind of bacteria in his ear while grooming and with his reduced immunity, it grew until it got really bad. Don't worry about the food.
