So, John is super freaked out.  Connor has been sitting on top of the laundry basket staring at a blank wall for the last hour.  Before that, he was staring at a different blank wall.  So, John has decided that the apartment is haunted.  He keeps bringing up the fact that this building was originally a church and the basement is super creepy.  I"m cracking up.  I'm not sure whether or not I even believe in ghosts.  I've heard some convincing stories from people I consider trustworthy, but I have never seen anything personally.  I'm from Missouri.  There's a reason it's called "The Show Me State."  Anyway, I'm trying to decide whether or not to mess with John.  Like, randomly move things to weird places and whatnot.  Haha, I'm horrible.

On another note, I STILL can't get Murphy to stop sucking on me!  Every time he does it, I turn his face away or set him on the floor and ignore him.  It works for a little while, but he always does it again.  He's gone up to a week without doing it, then he starts up again.  Connor doesn't do it.  They were born on March 4 and we got them May 16.  I've always heard kittens can be separated from their mothers at 6 weeks, but it's better to wait til 8 weeks.  They were a little over 10 weeks old when they came with us and they were with their mother until then.  Regardless of why he does it, I don't know how to get him to stop.  He doesn't do it to anyone but me.  I guess he sees me as his mommy.  Which I'm cool with.  They're my babies.  But the sucking thing is a little weird and I REALLY don't want to get a hickey from a cat.

Kittens are best left with mother longer than 8-10 weeks - it is then that they learn to be 'adult' cats. They learn what is acceptable and what is not. 6 weeks is ENTIRELY too young, most are not even totally weaned yet. Cats vision is different than ours so they see the world differently. Something probably just freaked them out. I have one that gets spooked by a sock on the floor.

He wasn't scared. Just staring intently. I've never seen either of them act afraid. They slept through fireworks on Independence Day. Didn't care that the building next door was being torn down. I turn the vacuum on and they look up, yawn, and go back to sleep. They even like to sleep in the pet carrier we used to take them to the vet to be neutered. I don't think they know what fear is! I'm not concerned about a ghost. I was amused.
So, now I know they should have been with their mama longer, but it's too late to change it. So is there anything else I can do to discourage Murphy from sucking on me?
They both like to groom me, particularly after a shower when my hair is wet. I don't mind that. They're very affectionate cats. But the sucking isn't so great.

My cats will occasionally (as is pretty normal for cats) suddenly stare at nothing, arch their backs, and run in terror. (Very occasionally, like once every few months). Due to this I made up that our old house was haunted by a ghost chihuahua. We named him Famtasmo.

They'll inevitably eventually do this at the new house, and then I will make up again what is haunting us.

Haha.  Connor wasn't afraid of anything.  I heard some bats as the sun was going down last night.  I was in the hallway and I could hear them above my head.  So I think it's pretty safe to assume that there are some bats living in the attic.  I think this building has an attic.  Probably.  Anyway, Connor probably heard them because cats have better hearing than us.  But I still want to mess with John so I need to think of some things to do that will make him think the place is haunted.  I'm such an evil witch.  I love it.

We have lived in a house where the cat would be asleep (mother's ex husband's cat), wake up for no reason, stare into the kitchen from the back of a recliner, HISS after a few minutes repeatedly... my terrified butt would stand up and stare into the kitchen, he'd look at me, look back, then just go back to sleep. IT WAS CREEPY. My cats have stared at walls too... They do this with tiny bugs (like gnats) that you may not see. Most of the time, mine weren't staring at bugs. HOWEVER, animals see things that we do not. Many animals hear at wave lengths that, again, we do not. Cats are ALSO regarded as protective animals- dogs from the physical world, cats from the spiritual world. I've encountered scary spiritual events on the grounds of a home on a civil war battleground, that was used as a hospital... This was on the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of the civil war. I won't go into detail. Another instance happened at a home where the previous owner had supposedly, well, ya know. In the attic. I felt that presence in the bedroom... and I couldn't sleep in there the rest of the time we lived in that home. Both experiences happened with no kitties around... So I do believe they protect us and ward off spirits. I try to play stupid when weird things happen... I try to discredit it. My anxiety goes through the roof, and I just can't deal with it. So even with the things that I cannot explain that happened at that battleground house that night... I just force myself to believe it didn't happen haha.

Like I said, I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts or not.  I'm not accusing you of lying - I've just never personally seen anything.  Either way, I have no fear of ghosts.  The dead can't hurt us - that's a job for the living.  I've seen too much evil from living people and been through too much to be afraid of unseen adversaries.  Like they say, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."  I have that as a tattoo, actually.

I'm the same way (I believe +/- that it's like a replay of the past if anything), but just some things... you can't erase from your mind (trust me, it would be awesome if I could!). Some things you truly cannot explain and they will scare the crap out of you. Especially the being "watched" feeling, which I've only had on those occasions. It's a good thing to not have to experience any of those events. And I totally agree... if our world was full of more animals and fewer people, we could all live safer, more productive lives. You have to be wary of everything :/ but some of the homes I've lived in have dark pasts, and I truly believe homes hold emotions and memories within their walls. Maybe I'm just sensitive to that kind of stuff- one home I lived in, it literally gave you depression and a feeling of loss/hopelessness. I would have NEVER believed that, until I experienced it.  It was also built in 1821, and there were no records/news stories to be found.

I hate people.  I hate people more and more every day I work.  Today I was told to kiss someone's ass because I couldn't solve her problem.  All I can do is set up a follow-up call with someone who CAN fix her problem.  And I was told I was unbelievable because I don't have a place where I can type in comments.  How is that MY fault?  Again, all I can do is set up a follow-up call.  Don't shoot the messenger.  I didn't write the survey.  I didn't make the rules.  I'm just the peon who asks the questions.
