My oldest cat passed today. :(

My 12 year old cat, Smeagol, died today. I got him as a kitten when I was 15. He left behind his "wife", Mia. They have been inseparable for 11 years. We showed Mia smeagol's body so she would know that he was gone and wouldn't be looking for him, and sadly she tried burying him with blankets.
Earlier this year my oldest dog passed away. So with my oldest cat passing, marks the end of my 2 small YouTube stars. I had posted a video on YouTube of my dog and smeagol years ago before they passed and their video was actually seen by and featured on animal planet.
We will miss you, Smeagol. And we love you.

I am very sorry for your loss of Smeagol.  Our fur baby's are never with us long enough. Smeagol has taken a piece of your heart and your love with him.  Your love will light his path to to the rainbow bridge. I hope you and Mia are able to support each other through the grieving process.  Please know that you are not alone here in your grief.  Hugs to both you and Mia during this very difficult time.

My heart goes out to you. I know the passing of a family member that has been with you for almost 1/2 of your life leaves such an empty, 'incomplete' feeling in your house and your heart. You shared much of your life's journey with Smeagol, but now in the natural order of things, your paths are at a fork and you must go on without him. He loves you way too much to want you to be overly sad at his passing. Yes, you must grieve, because you lost a part of your life that means so much. But try to celebrate, too, knowing that little boy and being able to love each other for so many years.  It was so wonderful that you had him in your life and I'm sure he felt the same.  The incredible bond you share can never be taken from you, you can send your love and your comfort to each other yet along that pathway that binds your hearts and souls. I know your precious memories will bring you comfort in the future,  they will immortalize him and you would honor him by eventually passing on his legacy of love to another little soul who so desperately needs someone to love. Please accept my condolences to you and Mia, give her a kiss from me, she is confused and heartbroken also in these first dark days. Time is the great healer of all, and time is the only thing that helps to soften the pain. So take this time to reflect on what that precious boy meant to you and know he was a rare and special jewel in the feline world. Take care of yourself and Mia, we mourn your loss with you as a part of the same great family  who love these special creatures and let them into our hearts........RIP beautiful Smeagol, you will be so greatly missed , but will be forever held in loving hearts and never forgotten. Sleep gently, sweet prince!

So sorry for the loss of your cat AND your dog, to take two huge hits like that within a short time is very tough. But you had 12 great years, even though we feel it is never long enough, but they had a wonderful life on this Earth thanks to you, and someday you will be reunited with them all.

I'm very sorry for the loss of both Smeagol and your dog.  It's devastating to lose a pet of any age, but it's really heartbreaking when that pet has been a part of your life for so long.  Bless you.

How awful to lose two dear friends so close together. The part where Mia tried to bury him in the blanket really got to me. I am sorry for your loss

I am so sorry for your loss. It is a very difficult thing to come to terms with when you lose your animals . They are an important piece of us daily and it takes time to heal . I pray for you while you are going through this difficult time and just know now they are over the rainbow bridge waiting for you to meet up with them someday pain free and full of life .
