Hello There!

I'm new here, but have a rather pressing issue. I have double sided tape placed around the house on furniture where my kitten frequently scratches. Normally it hasn't been a problem except for the times where I've had to take it off the kitten's paws when she decides to scratch anyway. Today I woke up to my adult cat running around like a maniac with tape wrapped around her whiskers. I feel terrible!. It's wrapped around all of them and midway from the tip of her whiskers to her face. I don't know what to do, I don't want to cut her whiskers, but the tape is too sticky to pull off without pulling out her whiskers, too. What should I do?

Gosh, I have absolutely no idea.  Have you tried using some oil to remove it?  I read warm olive oil might work, but don't know how to keep your cat calm enough to work it thru his whiskers.  Cutting them is NOT a good option though.

Nail polish remover?
That would possibly work, but what if her cat licked it
?  It might prove deadly.  I even rinse out the cotton I use to remove my polish before I toss it in my covered trash can, just to keep the smell down because I'm so paranoid about harming my furkids

Mine all avoid. They had an interested sniff once and they gave me that strange, disgusted look you get for doing human things they don't understand.

They could clean it off immediately.

Otherwise I'd suggest coconut oil over olive oil. The cat would probably prefer it.

Hi Everybody! Thank you so much for your responses! I tried olive oil, which mostly worked, she did wriggle out of my arms halfway through, though, to hide under the bed. When she came out, it looked like she had done the rest herself and licked her whiskers free. Thank you all so much for your help! I have a happy kitty again!
