Simba has a bunch of red, scab like bumps on his back, does anyone know what causes this, allergies perhaps? He doesn't go after them, and when we move his fur around to look at them he just turns his head and flicks his tongue real fast at us! He must have allergies as long as we have known him since taking him in about 6 years ago under his one eye it is bloody and weeps and scabs over, but other than that he is pretty good for a roughly 13 year-old cat, we can't tell his age accurately! And we can't get him to take him to the vet, he is a sweet cat but turns into Frankenstein's monster if we try to get him, we had to have a woman come in and trap him with a net months ago to take him for a dental issue, and the vet had to knock him out he was so wild, so that's out! And we don't have fleas so that's out too....

I'm assuming it is an allergy to something, but we haven't changed food or anything, but maybe it isn't because it is scabie bumps, some red, some brown. Any ideas?

Thank you!

Many skin issues in cats lead to infections of the skin which then need treatment separate to the original cause.  Simplicef is a good antibiotic for skin infections.  Maybe you can get a vet to make a house call, look at him and make some recommendations.

Thanks for the reply, it is very tough to get him looked at. I had a vet call me today and talked about it over the phone, but they weren't a whole lot of help and I understand that, but we did discuss a few things. Deb combed him out and got some fur and these little scabs off of him, almost like an allergic skin reaction or something. He doesn't seem in terrible distress, so we will see what happens, and I am going to talk to a woman at work who has 37-YES 37 cats-and see if she has seen this before and what she did. I did research it and kept seeing a product called "Dermasol" for skin issues, I wonder if that would help him? I have been giving him the GNC fish oil and vitamin E bites, so that should help with time too.

Thank you!
