Has anyone had a kitty that got an eosinophilic granuloma on his foot after a history of getting them on his lips?
My kitty has a history of rodent ulcers on his mouth (maybe 4 or 5 over his life). About 2 weeks ago his one toe pads started to swell. The vet put him on a non-steroid anti-inflammatory and antibiotic. It's been almost a week now and the swelling is still there. The vet wants to do a biopsy. I mentioned that he had a history of rodent ulcers but the vet doesn't think his foot swelling is related to allergies. Part of me wants to try to put him back on a steroid to see if it will respond to that before putting him through a biopsy.
So, I'm just curious if anyone has experience with EGs on a kitty's lip AND his paw. I found lots of posts about kitties that had them exclusively on the lips, and a few about kitties that get them on the paw, but I haven't seen any where the kitty gets them both places. I'm certainly willing to do the biopsy (especially because it would confirm for certain that he has EGC if that is indeed the case), but really don't want him to go through it if it isn't absolutely necessary.
Thanks!
