Has anyone's cat had this before and had issues with bowels and sickness?

Not the Science Plan/Diet, but the Royal Cabin Urinary S/O.

Your cat is most likely having upset tummy from the food because it is of poor quality. Chock full of useless carbohydrates such as corn and wheat. Cats are obligate carnivores, and aren't really biologically equipped to deal with these starches. Some cats are more sensitive than others.

Did your vet prescribe this food after a urinary blockage?

I fell victim to my vets advice and fed this expensive junk to my cat for years before doing more research on it. My cat has been off it for over a year and is eating 90% wet food now, and has not ever had a problem.

The best diet with a cat with tricky urinary systems or kidneys (and in general) is a high protein, low carbohydrate, 100% wet food diet that is low on fish. Fish contains a lot of phosphorus and magnesium, which adds fuel to kidney stones. Stick to a cats natural diet: fur and feathers. The moisture from the wet food will keep the bladder and kidneys flush and hydrated, sweeping out micro crystals before they can get big and blog. Your cat will be more hydrated and his urine less concentrated, meaning a less smelly box.

I swapped her over to it over a month ago due to my eldest cat having urinary problems/chronic bladder condition (hes now gone missing and has been over a month now) and she had bowel troubles, loose bowel but thought that'd clear up which it did and then every time she went to toilet it was normal for about 2 weeks now just she would loudly pass wind, you could hear it, when she went. Anyways the other night I fed her the food, accidentally put too much in and yesterday from around 12pm she was violently sick for 5 hours straight, took her to first vets appointment I could and they gave her an anti-emetic, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and zantac as well. Her temperature was high so said that indicated nothing serious. It was horrendous to be honest, she also didn't move from 12pm until 5am this morning apart from when being sick and what not. She also had a bout of watery diarrhea straight after vets and was sick one more time within the hour before I'm guessing the anti emetic kicked in. She's been a bit better today, like wanting cuddled and moving a bit more but still slept most the day, she's drunk fluids a bit but she's refusing food, she's not ate for 2 days now as i didn't get the time to feed her yesterday before she was sick, tried her with a bit of wet, she mainly licked it and took maybe two bites and then left it, so she's off her food, wondered if it could be the Science plan especially as it's been over a month?? Maybe I should post a different post about this too just in case? I still have concerns. I have a 10 week old kitten, 10 weeks today and he seems fine so far but concerns if its viral as it was pretty severe, she was sick so many times, and of course she's not ate two days now and still not wanting food, she's drunk but not much, but seems to have perked up, I can't work out what's wrong and trying to pinpoint it. I think she ate a couple mouthfuls of food but can't be sure as a lot of it was just shoved out the bowl, seemed like she was just more interested in licking it, its not like her to be off her food and 2 days of not eating she should really be hungry. I just don't know if this food could be responsible if it affected her bowels but to cause that much of an illness suddenly after over a month, I just can't figure it out..... I'm trying to as I have concerns. Vets said if she was sick more she'd be put in hospital but she hasn't since anti emetic bar the once but guessing it'd not kicked in yet... And she also hasn't ate two days so doubt there's anything to come out really. Maybe she's intolerant and the extra load of food i gave her by accident affected her, but would it affect her for this long, i don't know.

It was prescribed for eldest cat but I was told to just feed them both it so I didn't have to do separate feeding but now he's gone missing however kept her on it because I bought quite a bit in advance.

I'm thinking of swapping her to whiskas what my kitten is now on, obviously the adult stuff, I am feeding them separately which is working right now... So it'll be easily done but still can't work out if this illness and how she's feeling now could still be down to this food, I'm just puzzled.

Thank you for your reply!

Garbage food. Just feed wet food to avoid urinary issues.

Sorry about your male cat :( that's the risk of having outdoor kitties and a huge reason why I am keeping mine indoor now.

As I stated before, the best thing for a cat is a majority wet food diet, preferably 100% wet. It would also be easier on your cat's tummy.

Fancy Feast Classic, Sheba Pates, and Whiskas Pates are all grain free and affordable. If you live near a Tractor Supply, their 4Health wet food is equally cheap and grain free. Supermarkets often run sales on these brands.

HI all:  My cat was born with underdeveloped kidneys.  A birth defect.  I adopted him and this was not discovered until he became very sick and a sonagram was performed other than urine and blood tests.  Luckily, I adopted him from my vet who works with rescue organizations, and she is within walking distance.  I also had my vet consult with a specialist for kidney failure in cats at the animal hospital.  She is partnering with me to give him the best life.

The specialist, who deals with kidney issues in cats, told her that he can have fancy feast, but he wants him to also have the renal dry food for his kidneys, which he is eating and another special food that just came out for kidney issues.  Will let you know when she gets it in - I have no idea what it is.

I have done my own research and I have not found a 100% majority that agree on one thing.  Everyone has an opinion, so I will stick to the vet whose specialty is Kidney Failure in cats.

My cat Sushi is doing great.  Eats all his food, drinks from his water fountain, is extremely playful and happy.  Hard to believe he has anything wrong with him.  He has put on some weight and looks really handsome.  He is part Siamese and very talkative.  I cannot think of my life without him now.  I have lived alone for over 40 years and he has really added to my life.  I have had  him now for around 70 days.  From the first day I brought him home, he acted as if I raised him.  The bond was so strong between us.

The specialist said he has seen cats with my cat's condition live anywhere from 8-10 years.  That gave me great hope.

Anyway, to all of you who love your cats, may they have long and healthy lives and know they are greatly loved and cared for.
