Yin Yang Kitten Puddle

So I weighed the kittens at about 7PM tonight. Frog is exactly 2lbs. Toad is 1lb 15 just tipping the digital kitchen scale to 2lbs before going back to just a hair under. Froggy made his case for a bottle. I hope no one ever hears me making mommy cat eat this noises before he relented and drank from his bowl.

So in case I look back for reference it's October 22, 2016 when they hit the 2lb mark.  Oh and Toad made summit on the cat tree.

And I repeat....I am utterly kittensmitten.

Ah, that stretch!  Chez Chaton looks like a lovely place to be, for kitten or cat.  Or both.

I love it when they curl up in a Yin Yang pose like that.

I just liked this picture. They made the top of the cat tree and sat by the screen today. Mid 70's and there were birds and bugs and bunnies all over. Their sense of wonder at everything.



They got mice. Both like to carry their prey around so these a big hit. With Mook and Mercy too!

MOWZIES!  Hekitty is wildly jealous.  She doesn't know it yet, but she may be getting a catnip squirrel for Christmas.

*EVERY cat deserves a catnip squirrel.  We love ours*

Beautiful pix!  And it's great that they're starting out right, learning how to slay their "prey"

I never got Mercy's full story. She was taken into animal control at 4 weeks and put in foster. She was then spayed and adopted about a month before we got her when she was returned. She has never been a happy kitty. She has been clingy and needy at times. I don't mind. I don't know what happened to her in the home she was returned from. I have never been clawed or bitten or seen aggression from this cat. ever. She is so happy now. I mean happy. She loves those babies and she has become more genuinely affectionate to us rather than clingy. She comes and sits on my lap every night for love cuddles and eye blinks. She did that before but there is a new softness in her eyes. We had discussed maybe she needed a younger playmate but been hesitant because we didn't need another misfit cat. As you can see in the video she not only plays but mothers them.

I had help. I went off to wash the water bowl and when I came back the hole had filled up with a kit.

Look at those big old jack rabbit feet !

GOOD LORD!  Are you certain that Daddy wasn't a lynx?  With feet like those, I wouldn't be surprised!

Kittens -- and cats -- do tend to be extremely helpful, don't you agree? 

Yes, it seems to be the answer to several prayers and situations!  She is such a beautiful, beautiful torti! and I am quite partial to tortis and black cats, though of course, I love ALL cats.
