Hubs came home and the kits went running to say hello putting their little whisper paws on his legs asking to be picked up. I thought he was gonna cry.
Thank you for this information and ideas. This is going to be a bad month for us along with my sudden illness and raising the kits which is now not a full time job anymore thankfully. I guess part of the reason I haven't done this is because so many of the cats in their stories are in danger of being put to sleep. Tera is safe.
I think of Tera often as well. I think of her every time I see the sweet faces of her babies. I give thanks that Tera is safe. She just has to wait a little longer for her happy ending, which I am confident will come! In the meantime, our girl is safe and will never again has to face the burden of struggling to survive or the burden of another litter. I am happy for that. It is far from ideal but Tera is a survivor and a fighter. She will soon find the joy of the home she deserves
Have you ever been to websites like love meow.com or iheartcats.com or catster.com? I regularly see pieces on stories such as Tera's, which involve the rescue of mamas and their babies. I then see those stories picked up on the Facebook pages of cat advocates like Cole and Marmalade and Shorty and Kodi where the social media exposure is crazy! I'm wondering if you contacted them and told them the story of Tera and the babies, they might run her story on their websites? Tera's story has captured us all and I don't see why it wouldn't do the same to an even larger audience of cat lovers. People need to know more about Tera in order to want to run to adopt her. She is a loving, sweet darling girl but you wouldn't know that unless one knew the Tera you know. Watermelon Ranch understandably does not have the time or resources for such marketing for its cats. A story about Tera on any of these sites would be more exposure for Watermelon Ranch as well.
This.

I have a list of expensive foods they eat and puke up. The kits are so big now they look like cats moving around instead of little mutants. They are bonded with us and our cats and especially with each other. I'm going to need some advice on how to handle it when Toad , who I am certain now is the boy goes off for a neuter. I'll probably do him first since it's the easiest operation, quickest recovery and letting him go too long opens him to having the greater chance of unwanted behaviors, spraying.
This.
Makes it all worth it. Makes me smile. Those meatballs are a blessing.
Food-well let's see I had Floey who was VERY picky and only ate kibble. then later fancy feast in her old age.
Right now we feed tractor supply 4H because they eat it without hesitation. I tried orijen but they moved the manufacturing from Canada to Kentucky. It's still supposed to be same food but I don't know..i prefer food from Canada anyday over here. Just my two cents. Also they wouldn't eat the new food unless I mixed it in the 4Health.
What I did for years is mix three types together: Taste of the wild, Natures balance and Chicken soup for the soul. Because I wanted them on Nature's balance but they wouldn't eat it. I wanted them on something good. Now that Floey is not here I have not had any issues with them eating. So I don't mix it anymore. I still have 4 bags of dry food to use up. We will have food for quite a while. Floey at nonstop. These guys only eat during the night it seems. Honeybee gets those stupid temptations that I can't break Jon from feeding. I give her blue buffalo soft meat treats. We also tried the orijen soft treats. Freeze dried. She loves those. you can always get those and crumble them ontop of the kibble. They are just meat. no added junk.
In the end the best diet is the one they will EAT.
Hey don't worry about judgemental buttheads. They just don't understand. Just say your cat pukes any other brand. That will shut them up.
Good grief NO I just want to head it off. Setting up a timeline for S/N is on my list for their next visit.
Is he spraying now?
I am currently laughing hysterically, because I remember when Hekitty went in for her last batch of shots and nail clipping, and Dr. Paul said,"I think we're outnumbered here..." and there were three of us to one irate Hekitty!
Kits playing
So I'm 99% Frog is the girl and Toad is the boy. I think names just got mixed up on the first visit. There may have been a bit of chaos in the exam room. The humans were outnumbered with only 4 of us and 2 of them.
Thank you. They love that blanket it's their nest. I resist the urge to do more than vacuum it with the pet attachment. I sat them on it after bottle feeding, burping and helping them potty. Both find their way there to nap.
This is a prize winning photo - it's just beautiful. Everything about it is perfect - from composition to the expressions on their dear little faces. It deserves to be framed.
Re: the present in the litter bag - Ha ha ha ha! Little rascal. My dear old Polly did that once except she got into the deep tub somehow. I still remember the shock I felt at finding it there.
