Hi all! So, I finally got my stray cat May May in my house. We bonded really well outside over two years so her transition has been okay, she can easily be coaxed out of hiding for rubs.
But, I know she is in a fragile place and I don't want to traumatize her with a trip to the vet yet. Last year I got her inside and had a vet do a home visit and it traumatized her so much that she broke out of the room and got into my crawlspace and eventually I opened a window and let her go.

So! I really don't want a repeat of that. She's healthy, and was vaccinated last fall, but I'm sure she's full of ear mites and parasites but my vet will not give me Revolution for her until I can bring her in for vaccines and a booster.

So I am just looking for ideas - is there anything I can do from home? Can I purchase Revolution somewhere and do it myself?

I do fully intend to get her properly vetted but I would like to wait at least a couple months and have some trials with carrying her around in a cat carrier and such.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Unfortunately the Revolution is prescription so you can only get it from a vet.  You can get Advantage or Frontline from a pet store.  In some areas fleas have become resistant to Frontline so the Advantage would be better.  I would stay away from anything like Hartz, that flea preventative has actually killed cats.  Also you want Advantage not Advantix.  Advantix is for dogs only and is actually poisonous for cats.

Here is an article I found on treating ear mites at home.  http://animals.howstuffworks.com/pets/home-remedies-for-cats-with-ear-mites1.htm

This thread mentions some dewomers that are over the counter and are effective and safe  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/292659/dewormer

Thanks! Actually I think that here (Canada, and Australia) Revolution isn't prescription only. Of course, they still won't sell it to ya - and many of the meds you CAN get off-the-shelf in the US aren't available here.

I did find it online here: http://www.petshed.com/revolution.asp

But am very trepidatious and buying online! I might  stick with holistic methods until I feel comfortable bringing her to a vet. I haven't seen any fleas on her thankfully and the earmites aren't bothering her (yet).

I came across this which is available in Canada: Bio Ear Mite Treatment

Active Ingredients: Pyrethrins 0.15%, Piperonyl Butoxide Technical 1.50%
Inert Ingredients: 98.35%

The online reviews are fine but there aren't that many of them, and I saw a different product with similar ingredients with really terrifying reviews.
