More of good pics are welcome, and also, any background story you can add about him.

But I do agree with TabbyTom, on this pic he reminds much of a russian blue, even eyes are decently green, and the profile seems OK.

Thanks guys! We got him as a kitten from a rescue centre and we don't know anything about his parents. Whereas our other cats look like larger versions of themselves as kittens Louie looks nothing like he used to when he was a kitten.

He is very silky to the touch and has a shimmery sort of fur which is hard to show in photos - it's like he is silvery rather than just grey. I think it shows relatively well in the top photo. He's naturally very slim and smaller than our other cats, but very muscular, particularly agile and strong for his size.

Let me know what you think? If you have any more questions that may help please ask as I could talk about him all day but it might not be particularly relevant haha!

Ah?  What is the differences against kitten- Louie?

The description in the rest could be put on a purebred RB.   A really good description of one. Truly.

His overall looks is of the european type RB, not the american one, decent, but not of show quality....

Still, it seems you won a VERY high prize on the lottery!

There are 2 breeds that have that pretty blue/grey color:  Russian Blue and Chartreux.  One has green eyes, one has golden eyes but I can't remember which is which at the moment.  It is common for tabbies to have that solid grey coloring, too.  You can clearly see the faint tabby stripes in his baby pictures, so more than likely he is a mixed breed, albeit a handsome one!

You are very observant. You maybe right about him being a mixed. [emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]127995[/emoji]

Faint stripes on kittens arent unusual on blue cats, without them being tabbies.  So for example, its common on kittens of russian blue.  They usually disappear with time, as here on Louie.

And we know RB doesnt carry no tabby gene, because they are purebred per definition.

Nay, what bothers me, some of the later pics shows the facial structure could sit on a Korat...   Although I still vote on a RB look alike.

Interesting! I did see the Korat breed before when looking at descriptions of grey cats and there were many similarities but when the body was described it said a Korat is solid and not lean. Louie is extremely lean. He's fully grown now but smaller than the average cat (however built like an athlete).

Whatever he is, he certainly is a cutie! He's a charming and expressive cat. We always joke that we can read his mind by his numerous expressions, he has so many...and quite a few voices too (but they're rarely used, he's not a chatty cat unless he requires something - food or for us to open the cat flap at night - unlucky Louie!)

He always gets comments when guests see him and he's even done a bit of modelling haha.

His fave way to lie around.

Face again

Eyes! (also this photo most accurately shows his colour as it's hard to capture sometimes as the temperature of light at the time can change the shade of his grey coat).

Bit of personality...

Louie makes us laugh every single day. Day before yesterday he came through the cat flap with a particular voice that we know means "I have brought you something" so we went to investigate and he had a whole chicken breast in his mouth [emoji]128518[/emoji]

Thank you for your purraise! :D

Louie is one nice handsome cat [emoji]10084[/emoji]️
It's good to hold conversation with him although you don't quite understand understand his meows but keep talking with him. He'll respond to you. And they gave different tones when they meow as in asking for certain things.

My boy does that when he wants something and tone changes as he gets demanding :lol3:

I have to thank @Anne  for selecting Louie as picture of the week and bringing him to my attention.  How had I missed this handsome guy until now?

Count me in as seeing him as a good likeness for a Russian Blue cat.   The silvery sheen to his blue fur is a feature of Russian Blue fur but not other blue breeds, and with Russian Blue fur is caused by a lack of pigment at the tips of each strand of fur.     The green eye colour is also an essential feature of Russian Blue.  Without any 'pedigree' breed paperwork you could easily describe Louie as resembling Russian Blue, and also as a Maltese cat which is the name given to all blue cats of all or mostly blue colouring.

Your photographs are fabulous @carlypussycat  and show off both Louie's handsome and fit physique and his huge pursonality.  Like blueyedgirl5946 I also have a pretty blue boy, but mine is also much fatter than Louie.
