Hi all.  I just wanted to remind everyone to make sure you get some good, recent pictures of your cat just in case, heaven forbid, they should go missing.

I just had a cat suddenly and unexpectedly disappear and when I look through my pictures of him, I don't have a single one of him that would be suitable to print or show anyone that might see him.  They are all him of being silly, sprawled out on his back sleeping or just his face or whatever.  I have no full body shots that show his markings or what he looks like while he's upright.  It's very upsetting, so I wanted to warn others, in case anyone else should ever wind up with a missing cat.

Thank you for this reminder whatsonemore whatsonemore . Like you, I have lots of photos of my girl but probably nothing that would be really helpful for a posting or anything for identification. This is also a good thing to have as part of an emergency preparedness kit. I live in an area where there is a moderate to high risk for earthquakes. I've been trying to get a good emergency kit for my cat together. Good photos are now on that list!

I hope you are able to find your missing kitty.

@WhatsOneMore I'm really sorry your cat is missing, it must be terrible. I hope you find him!

Thanks to your post I'm now going to take some proper pictures of my camera shy kitty.

Thanks guys.  Luckily my bf got one of Stormy up on top of his car in the garage, but it was at night and the lighting was dim and just simply, is not very good.   Instead, I have pictures like the one posted below, which bring a smile to my face while simultaneously breaking my heart, worrying that I'll never see this pose again, and it doing nothing in helping identify him to someone not in my household.  :(
