We haven't seen our cat Callie since about 10PM the night of 8/27. She roams along with her other 2 sisters, but is almost always here for breakfast or comes in shortly afterwards. And she loves the bed and wouldn't be gone so long that she wouldn't want to get back on it. We lost her one sister Skittles back in March and have not had any leads on her either. We are very upset and want her home. Nobody else on our street loses their outdoor cats and now we have 2 missing in a 6 month period. She came home 2 days before she went missing smelling like pine and a sticky tail due to sap. It makes me think she was in the pine grove behind our backyard neighbors house and perhaps she went back there and something got her. I tried to get back there and look for her but there are too many thorny blackberry bushes to get very far.

People on missing cat sites keep saying to me that if she got really scared that maybe she's just hiding out somewhere until she feels it is safe to return. I know my cats and I know that if they are scared they come tearing through the pet door and go under the bed or on top of the cat tree--they don't run away. If they did, they certainly wouldn't stay away for more than a day. Her sisters are out roaming and I'm sure she'd see them and come out. She also has a very loud meow.

I'm very sad as she was my favorite. We took in 5 kittens when they were 2 months old and we had to euthanize one at 10 months because she was ill and now we have 2 missing. I feel like we are horrible parents. I know keeping them inside is the answer, but they so enjoy the outdoors and I don't want to keep them inside as they get such joy from being outside.

Oh yeah we have already printed flyers and put them around the neighborhood. I've contacted the shelters and posted her as missing on several lost cat sites from our neighborhood and city. I did the exact thing 6 months ago with our other missing cat and got absolutely nothing from those. A couple of people sent photos of strays that they thought could be her and they looked nothing like her.

You can try setting some food near your house so you can use it as a bait so the cat comes back? Or you can set up a camera to see where your cats go.
I'm afraid we'd get the neighborhood cats or other animals if we set food out. She knows where she lives and I can't imagine that a small bowl of food would get her home. She is the least of our cats that is food driven as well.

Then I'm out of proper ideas... sorry...
Sharing some good vibes to you and your kitties. Hopefully your cat comes back.
Thank you. It's just so unlike her. She was my favorite and I miss her terribly.  I hate to be a downer, but I'm pretty sure we won't see her again

I feel your pain, Mapper.  I've got one that has been missing since 8/12.  He was young, about a year old, that I'd taken in as a tiny kitten that was dumped with his two siblings.  He'd hardly ever stepped out of the yard, let alone be gone overnight.  I even contacted an animal communicator, but because I'm out in the country and the area is so vast with woods, pastures and creeks, nothing could be narrowed down very well.  It was helpful though, so if you are interested, I'll share her name with you.  It was like $44 for a 15 minute session.  I also would definitely make sure you put up a listing on Craig's List.
