Somewhere in the cat expanse....
Hi,

I usually buy my food online and have it shipped to me. The other day, on our 100 degree day, the ship box was outside in the sun for probably a good 5 hours. I am now hesitant to give it to my cats because I am concerned it may have spoiled.

I'd imagine if it was really bad it would smell really bad but I am concerned about things like Botchelism, etc. which I don't think has an odor?

I thought about returning it to the store but realized they will just re-shelve it, which means if it is no good, someone else's cat will get sick and that's not going to work.

I am thinking I am going to have to just take the loss unless I stand a good chance that the cans are okay.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Canned pet food is cooked under high pressure (the entire sealed can with food inside) so a couple of hours in the sun won't harm the food at all.
