I want to get my savannah eating wet or raw. Hes very muscular and strong and some raw would be great, or the best canned around but he turns his nose up at everything. Ive never experienced this with a cat before. any advice would be great. heres my rat, this pic is probably a year old but love it. The second one is new

Patients, and using a lot of tricks. I converted by 12 year old cat (at the time) to almost all raw/freeze dried raw from kibble. He never came around to wet food, but freeze dried food is a great way to start converting your cat. I started with something like Primal, Stella and Chewy, or Instinct Raw Market, and added a small amount of water at first so it's more dry, then slowing started adding more until he would eat it wet. Another option would be to add treats on top, something like freeze dried tuna or bonito flakes, whatever he likes.

I started out giving it to him dry (which I don't really recommend unless your cat won't touch it any other way) but instead of adding water and mixing it up, I just crush it up in a small cat bowl, and then drizzle a little water on top so it's a bit moist but doesn't look like wet food yet, then when he went to eat it he would lick the water and the food together. I just did that and slowly stated adding more and more water (you can't add too much water to these foods, it's however your cat prefers to eat it).

Be patient! It took a long time to get my cat to eat it wet. If he refuses try giving him a few small bits dry and go from there. I just wouldn't feed it dry long term because it does contain bone.
