HELP! FLEAS!

I came home with my sister, and one of my two cats- Boop- smelled bad, we think she rolled around in the litterbox. So, we decided to give her a bath. Only when we were done and drying her off we found FLEAS! not many. I was only able to find about 4 with in-depth searching. And, this means Jinx- the one who actually goes outside- had them too! So, we washed her as well. This time with flea removal home remedies. I.E dish soap and vinegar. It seemed to work, all the fleas (which I only found about 5) were all dead. Did I catch this early enough? Tomorrow we're going to get some frontline plus to help. But, do I have to call and exterminator to bomb my house for fleas?

also its worth mentioning no one in my family has had issues with bugs. No random itchy spots. Except mosquitoes which we know are them and not fleas. Nothing appears to be in the cat trees or in beds or furniture.

I think you can't take a risk and you should call an exterminator just to examine the house

I don't think you need panic just yet. If that were me, I'd keep checking the cats and put Frontline or something on straight away. Then do a couple of really thorough vacuums, wash their bedding and keep a close eye out for any signs of fleas multiplying.

UPDATE: They were given flea meds and are quarantined off in a room until the meds take affect (with food, water, and litter). I'll let everyone know if they improve or fleas spread to us.

UPDATE: Fleas found in my room, I've been bitten multiple times. They must be in other areas. Told my mother and she expects me to handle it. I'm not an adult. I don't have a lot of money. I literally only have 100 right now. My stepfather told we "we'll take care of it" which I hope means him and my mother. I just want to call an exterminator. It's our best bet of success. And, under $300 to bomb the house. It's something they should consider.

Then again, my mother blames me for the fleas. I'm not sure what course of action we'll take.

I always thought it a little funny when I was growing up.  Mom would take the family dog with us when we went to visit relatives leaving dad at home sometimes.  Without the dog around, the fleas would eat him up.  It's a similar situation for you because the pets have become off limits for the little pests.  Now you're the next best thing. This was decades ago but dad would use Sevin dust in the house and coat everything for a period of time..then he'd vacuum everything up.  Bottom line though is that you'll need to do something to kill the ones that are now inhabiting your house.  Not fun I"m sure.  Hope all goes well for you!
