The debate is on and I'm bringing it here....

Pumpkin Spice Everything - Yea or Nay?

Yea; but not yet!

I'm having a hard time getting excited for "pumpkin spice season" this year.  I do enjoy the coffee from Dunkin Donuts and some muffins and things like that.  But August just seems so early for it to be out!  I've seen pumpkin spice creamer in the store for about a month i think.

I am thinking of making a pumpkin chocolate chip cake sometime in the next few weeks.  I could go for muffins too.  My kids like cinnamon raisin bread lightly toasted for breakfast.  Last year we tried pumpkin bread when it came out and it was a bust.  I think it had too much ginger in it for them.  We've tried pumpkin waffles too. Those are ok too.  The store-bought coffee creamer isn't as good as Dunkin's.

Personally I'm hoping Dunkin brings back their snickerdoodle creamer for winter. That would excite me more than pumpkin!
Unfortunately that means winter has to come and I'm REALLY not ready for that!

Nay. I'll pass thanks. I love my iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts but I like the mocha or caramel.

Mostly nay. Especially in August!

The only one I like is the Starbucks version but I've found over recent years I don't like highly sugared beverages regardless of where they come from.  I might wind up having one at some point (when it's cold out LOL) but it isn't something I gravitate to.  I prefer regular coffee, light, no sweetening.

I do like pumpkin spice, but not in everything... a nice pumpkin spice latte made with soy milk, from Starbucks, on a chilly fall day....

A slice of pumpkin pie during the holidays...

Pumpkin spice candle from Yankee Candle.. on a chilly autumn day/night...

A nice pumpkin muffin with a cup of regular coffee...

It just seems that Pumpkin Spice is a 'buzz' word, phrase, flavoring now. It has been so overdone, to the point of ruining it...

August is too early for pumpkins.. It has to be mid-September and feeling like fall, in order to fully enjoy it...

Not the pumpkin spice that you find in stores....in candles, in air fresheners, etc. No thanks.

But I do like the pumpkin and spices in pies and other baked goods. I have a completely decadent recipe for wonderful Pumpkin Bars (with an orange cream cheese frosting).

I'm just not ready for fall yet. I'm just not. I know what comes after fall and it's not pretty.

I've never had pumpkin spice anything!

It sounds pretty good though. I wonder if I can get it over here?

Pumpkin spice is kind of easy to make.. just mix together some cinnamon, nutmeg, a bit of cloves,... kind of like an apple pie seasoning, but a bit of pumpkin to it..

or you can get a pumpkin pie seasoning mix and add it to a cup of coffee.. really good

It doesn't taste like pumpkin at all. Pumpkin pie is an American thing I think- mostly served around Thanksgiving.

You can make it yourself if you can find the ingredients. IMO it's not that great and way overhyped and overrated. Then again- I don't like pumpkin pie.

I LOVE pumpkin spice in just about any form. I don't drink coffee but ice cream, cake, pie, muffins, doughnuts, cookies, I always look forward to the Fall.  I buy a pumpkin bread from Whole Foods that has a mild pumpkin spice flavor and I really like it. Fortunately, that isn't around very long. However, I do agree, however, that August is too early. By the time Thanksgiving comes, I've had an overload.

I like pumpkin pie and also any baked goods.  I don't care for the latte though, I think it is too sweet for me.

i like pumpkin pie spice, but i most times just use apple pie spice -- very similar, and gets the job done. i have bought my apple pie spice (16 oz bag), from my spice sage online, but i'll be mixing up my own with individual spices going forward.

my opinion is that it's still too early to be having fall flavors. i've been thinking about making a pumpkin pie, but not until fall. maybe once october gets here.

I have actually never bought pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice, I just use the different spices.

I'm with @Artiemom  - they have ruined it by overusing the phrase.  I feel like I am bullied into it between August 1st and November 30th, when we are then bombarded with candy cane flavorings haha!  I do like pumpkin pie, and I like the smell, but not the fake stuff, I like the real-deal from baking.  Every store you go into from now till Thanksgiving has the pumpkin pie wax melts going, or potpourri, or something.  It sickens me out on it.

I think I'd like it much better if it wasn't so hyped up.

I gave in to the pressure and tried the latte, but didn't really care for it.  I do, however, thoroughly enjoy the liquid gingerbread coffee creamer!!  And Subway sandwich shop's gingerbread cookies...yum.

I've never had any of the drinks.  I don't like coffee.  I do like pumpkin pie, and pumpkin bread both with whipped cream.  Sadly can't have any this year.

Yes! I agree with you completely!

I do enjoy some of the holiday or seasonal flavors that come out in things.  But when it's overdone like pumpkin/pumpkin spice has been you take the fun out of it

That is exactly why I have never liked fall. Every day of fall that goes by is one day closer to winter (aka hell). I dreaded winter.

I love pumpkin pie spice, as well, but not until the end of September, for goodness sake!  My favorite?  Pumpkin ice cream with whipped cream and a sprinkle of spice!

Yea!

Granted it can show up a bit too early, and sometimes it can be an overkill. But still, I quite enjoy it! One of those pleasant aspects of fall.
