Hi there, I was looking on the internet about feral cats as pets and found this forum. Two weeks ago I adopted a 2 year old (as far as vet could tell) very shy cat from a shelter. The vet thought he is at least semi-feral. I'm looking forward to all the good info and people on this forum.

My cat's name is Waffles, and he seems to have come a long way in the 2 weeks we have had him. He is just now playing with a wand feather toy for the first time, with my daughter.

He will let us scratch his cheeks and chin, loves to be brushed- if he's in the mood and we approach slowly :)

Anyway, I look forward to being a part of the forum here. If I do this right here's a picture of him. He's a real sweet guy.

Welcome to TCS pearl99 pearl99 and Waffles!!

What a sweet boy Waffles is [emoji]10084[/emoji]️. Thank you for looking past Waffles' shyness at the shelter and picking him to have a forever home with you and your family. It sounds like he is settling into his new home quite nicely!

I hope you enjoy TCS...there are so many wonderful, knowledgable people here [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Please keep us posted on how Waffles is doing!

Thanks, HelloMissKitty!

I couldn't resist him in the shelter. My daughter is living with me till December while she goes to school, she has a 5 month old kitten named Beans. He and Waffles are doing okay.

Waffles has had milestones today- playing with the feather, he approached my daughter while she was standing up for some scratches, and he came to the doorway of the kitchen to watch me cooking dinner. It's heartwarming. Never had a cat this frightened before. I can hear him with the zoomies at night around the house, pretty funny.

I think it's wonderful that you can appreciate the small victories [emoji]128519[/emoji]. Some people can't and don't have the patience and understanding that a kitty like Waffles needs and deserves.

Thanks TabbyTom for a purraise! Yep he's handsome. He was just purring away being scratched just now. Even went for a little belly rub, then I did something and a light whap and a hiss haha. But, we are learning. Thanks for the welcomes.
