My newly acquired rescue companion has decided not to eat any thing but dry food.  I buy the best dry food for her, and hope that is good enough, but I am afraid she is not getting a correct diet.  She is one year old (and I love her madly!) and very smart.  Any suggestions, please?

What is the "best" dry food you're feeding her?

Try something like FF classic chicken. I had a stubborn cat I transitioned off all kibble with FF, something about it is very enticing to cats. Also you could try different toppers, freeze dried meats salmon, chicken, etc. You could also try Forti Flora, which is also enticing and has a "kibble" smell. Try lots of different wet foods, both brands, flavors, and textures, to find what she likes. Don't give up, her health depends on you getting more moisture into her.

All dry foods are complete balanced diets so don't worry about your cat not getting enough vitamins and minerals.

Canned food is definitely a healthier choice if you can get your cat to at least eat a little bit of it. But don't feel like a horrible person if your cat simply refuses to eat anything but dry food.  Here are some tips on how to transition a cat to a different food: http://www.thecatsite.com/a/transit...-to-a-new-type-of-food-canned-raw-or-homemade

How long have you had your cat? Too many new thngs can overwhelmed a newly acquired cat. Feed the dry food for now and when your cat has settled in, you can slowly introduce canned food. Don't rush the process. Go at your cat's pace.  Your cat is young so no long term health damage will be done by the dry food while you work on getting canned food into the diet.

I had a bengal that would eat wet food and chicken and such in addition to dry. My savannah refuses it all other than dry. Hes on a very very good dry, but seriously I have spent so much money and he will refuse it all...any advice?
