My cat wants to "play fetch"!

I have a 6mo old m cat that I love dearly.He was the only one of 9 kittens we decided to keep. He's always been peculiar in many seemingly unrelated ways. He was the "forever kitten" and never seemed to learn how to fully meow. We joke about his speech impediment and his inability to balance. He is a silly little spaz! HOWEVER, he does like to play fetch w straws. It began out of my annoyance for his need for attention. He was in my face w a straw in his mouth and so I took it and threw it (obviously not too far because throwing a straw is similar to throwing a feather). To my surprise he was back with it in a matter of seconds. I tried it again and again until it became a game. I had always seen him spaz on the kitchen floor with a straw but this game was new! Now it's a regular thing. Anyone else have a cool cat that does things like this? Please share!

I have a one year old that loves playing with a ball of aluminium kitchen foil. I throw it and she picks it up and drops it in my Lap to throw again. She will do this for hours. Hours of fun at no cost. Cant beat it.

Sinbad plays fetch with balls made of crumpled newspaper. I toss it and say, "Go get it!" and he'll race off then bring it back and drop it into my hand. He loves it and will play for ages.

Mingo played fetch with crinkle balls for a very long time, months, but now he will only return his favorite one, and he lost it in the kitchen some time ago. Every once in a while, he will bring back another one.
