One of my favourite pictures of Mouse.  :heart3:    I always look at it though and feel amazed at how little he is in comparision with the feather wand bit - he was always rather 'big'  (tubby) for his age. :lol3:
That's a precious shot [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

This is Hester. She is all black except for the very tip of her tail, which has a white star. I named her Hester because it means 'star' and also because it's an old fashioned name that I associate with New England. Oldey-timey New England => witches => black cats => Hester. Or at least, that's how my thinking went.

This is Hugo, he gets his name from it being the only one that my husband and I could agree on. I wanted to call him Finn, husband wanted Sergeant Fuzzyboots. We must have gone through every male name ever before finally settling on Hugo. Husband still calls him Sgt Fuzzyboots at times.
OMG, I think Sgt Fuzzyboots is the cutest name ever!  I would totally side with your husband on that one.  Hahaha

Can  I add two?  I named a male orange kitten Woody because when he was little he could not make it up the whole set of red oak hardwood stairs so he would curl up on the middle one and take a rest and his colour blended right in.  We were always saying to each other, "Watch out, don't step on the kitten."  So, Woody.

Then another male kitten I named Willie, before I knew for sure he was male.  I figured it could change to Wilma or Millie if he turned out to be a girl.

So, my sister phoned one day, "What'cha doing?"  she asked.  I replied, "Playing with Willie."  She laughed and said, "Does he have a big smile on his face?"  And then I got it, I'd given slang sexual expression names to two cats.  Sis said, "What's wrong with you, haven't you ever hear men talking?"
I'm working and I conduct phone surveys and I read this and it took everything I had in me to keep from laughing out loud and I'm pretty sure the laugh was audible in my voice.  Hopefully that call doesn't get monitored . . .

Shade - She's a dilute calico, so I was trying to give her a name that was somehow reflective of her colors. I didn't really succeed, but the word "shade" has a lot of meanings that I either like or lean toward what I intended; she's a shade different from a regular calico, her colors are similar to a sandy beach and the shade coming from the umbrellas, a shade is a spirit and I just like that meaning... Also, I like the sound of the word "Shade."

Meko -- Her name really should be Mako, or even Meiko, but for some really stupid reason, I thought spelling it "Meko" would be make it easier to pronounce? I was completely wrong. XD It's pronounced may-ko. I was afraid Mako would be pronounced mack-o, and Meiko would be pronounced with three syllables, so instead I went with the spelling that looks like "mee-ko" so she gets called mee-ko instead of may-ko. Oh, well. There were three inspirations for her name. The first is manekineko, the Japanese beckoning cat, which is supposed to be lucky. Meko is a tripod kitty, so giving her a name inspired by manekineko was kind of like calling her "Lucky." and her coloring is similar to the common mostly-white-calico manekineko figures I've seen. 2. Mako, from Final Fantasy VII. 3. Meiko, the Vocaloid. Since I wasn't really sure which I wanted to go with, I compromised by choosing a spelling that equaled none of them? My decisions make no sense... but hey, Meko doesn't care if her name is mispronounced or misspelled, so who cares, right? XD

Nenya -- Named after one of the three Elf rings of power from the Lord of the Rings. I went looking through a bunch of Sindarin/Quenya dictionaries to find a good Elvish word to use as a name for her but decided to not go quite that nerdy and at least pick something that a LotR fan would recognize as being from the Lord of the Rings. I realized later that I could also turn it into a pun, since "nya" is Japanese for meow.

Kismet - For the longest time I wasn't sure if Kismet was male or female -- she was a bottle baby from a week old and infested with maggots, and the maggots had injured her back end which made it even harder to tell -- so I wanted to go with a unisex name. A lot of people were telling me to give her a name like "Hope" or "Lucky" or "Hero," so I decided to go with something along those lines by choosing kismet. The other great thing about Kismet is that it has a similar feel to it as Gambit, which is the name of my horse. Gambit is a black tobiano paint horse who is blind in one eye, Kismet is a mostly white cat with big black splotches (similar to the tobiano pattern), and had an eye injury from the maggots, so the similar name feel is kinda cool. Fortunately Kismet's eye healed up fine!

Camo - I didn't name Camo, but I do really like the name. She's a tortoiseshell, and my mom called her Camo because the tortoiseshell is similar to a camouflage pattern.

Henna - I use henna as a hair dye, and I really loved the sound of "Henna" for a name. When Henna were born, she turned out to be a torbie which I think was an appropriate color for this name. Henna the plant creates a dye that is red/orange, but people can still get fake "henna" tattoos that are black.

Shiloh -- Naming Shiloh was so frustrating. She is gray and white and has a white spot in the middle of her forehead that looks really similar to the "star" you see on horses, so because of that spot and because I like astronomy, I wanted to get her an astronomy related name. But after weeks of looking, I couldn't find a name that I thought suited her and she was literally the only kitten in the litter not named yet, so I gave up and named her Shiloh. No real meaning connected to her specifically, I just always liked the name, and it does suit her!

Ebony -- She's a brown tabby with a mostly spotted pattern, kinda looks like ebony tree bark. :)

Ronan -- Ronan is an orange and white tabby. I was trying to find a name that meant "red" and came across Rowan and Roan, but I didn't really like those names for him. Instead of using one of these appropriate names, I decided to go with something that just sounded similar instead, which doesn't have an appropriate meaning at all. XD

Mosaic -- She's a dilute calico tabby, but her patches look really cool. She has a lot of solid cream patches, some solid gray patches, and then some gray patches with tabby markings -- other than her tail, she doesn't have stripes in the cream at all! It's a very mosaic-y pattern, so I went with that as a name.

Treble -- Treble is another white cat with some black and looks very similar to Kismet. I was slightly tempted to go with a theme naming and call her Karma, but it didn't feel right because 1) Karma is my private name for Kismet's littermate that died -- nobody knows I named her that, but I didn't feel comfortable reusing it, and 2) I felt it would be better to emphasize the differences between Kismet and and this kitten, not the similarities. I started calling her Trouble because she was squirmy and a loud mouth and would make Camo stop whatever she was doing to come "rescue" her. Eventually I noticed once of her splotches was shaped like a music note, decided I wanted a music-themed name, and realized "Treble"  was great pun.

Baby picked he own name. When I adopted her, they had called her Sylvia. When I got her home, she wouldn't answer to it. I tried calling her by other names and she wouldn't even look at me. Finally, in desperation, I said "whose mama's baby," and she not only looked right at me, she meowed as if to say its about time and came ove r for some love. Later on I called out Baby, and she came again. So that's how Baby told me her name. I didn't name her like I had with my other cats, she named herself and actually will ignore you if you call her anything else.

When it comes to giving names to animals I give them a name that suits their appearance. My little cat was born in a farm but behaves almost exactly like a pet cat, she is a pure white and black cat and since she lives in a farm you would expect her to have dust in her fur but her fur is so shiny and the white of her fur looks like Vanilla ice cream and she acts sweet as Vanilla so that how I got her name. Vanilla

My name for my cat is Romeo it's kinda Korny how he got his name but it is true. My wedding anniversary is Valentine's day and my husband asked me what I wanted for our 5th year anniversary and I wanted a Persian cat, I had lost our other cat named Piggie two months prior which was a very bad Christmas for me. But anyway me and my friend drove to the top of a mountain Gatlinburg TN to get this little furry wonder. I mean on top of the mountain too! This was a beautiful home and I was greeted by 6 to 8 balls of white fluff. I sat in the middle of this ladies dinning room and was ingulfed by sniffs, rubs, and kisses. There was one in particular that was a little demanding of affection and attention. But there a little fluffy white girl that had a pretty face that also had my eye. But this one male Persian kept coming to me. Really what done it for me is when I got up to stretch my legs , this particular animal came to me stood on his back legs at me and kissed my hand and nugged me and I said well you are quite the Romeo and then n there he picked me. So since it was me anniversary and Valentine's Day I thought this name suited him. Believe or not he got more normal name than what my other kitties that I had from the past which are waiting for me at The Bridge I still love you Crackers, Toes, Blade, and Piggie I will hopefully see you one day I really hope this miracle will come true.

Sinbad got his name because he was constantly exploring. Every new room he's in, every new place must be thoroughly explored, and he is constantly searching for new places to explore. Every time we open a closet that he's not seen opened before, he gets all excited and tries  his best to go inside and look around. Even when he's terrified like at the vet, he is still exploring every nook and cranny of the waiting room we're in. So we named him Sinbad after the sailor.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinbad_the_Sailor

Tempest kept the name the rescue had given her because it seemed to suit her. They gave her that name because she so fiercely protected her kittens that there was only one person at the rescue who was able to interact with her and them.

Bêlit is named after the pirate queen from the Conan novels, because she is constantly staging raids to steal food. We have to lock her up during mealtimes and feed her separately because otherwise she will steal all of Sinbad's food. She also prowls when I am cooking waiting for opportunities to steal our dinner, and we can't leave plates unattended any more because while Sinbad has manners and won't steal off our plates, Bêlit will steal any food that isn't carefully guarded.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bêlit_(Robert_E._Howard)

Well, Tarifa is a treasure, Sahra is desert-colored and striped like the sand cats, Maryam is Maryam because, when she came along, there was no room at the inn, so she initially stayed in our barn compound (with the other cats there!), Baby Su has been the youngest for all her life, and our most recently adopted is Elvis, named by his original human dad, and well, he IS the King!
