Just FYI, @TabbyTom, neonatal and unweaned kittens require feeding very frequently -- as much as every 2 hours, around the clock -- and stimulation to eliminate.  They must be monitored very carefully as to temperature, too.  That is why the high attrition rate for kittens.  Fosters are lifegiving because they do these jobs.  Otherwise, there is no one to do them in most shelters/ACC's.  Horrendous, but that's the reality.  Fosters are heroes!
Thanks for the info.
I feel very sad each time I think of shelters and its hard to drag me to one [emoji]128546[/emoji]

I adopted a cat that was shot in the face, He still has bullet fragments in his face and a hole in the roof of his mouth so he sneezes alot. His name was Frank but he didn't know his name so we decided to change it. My brother suggested Niko named after a man who was shot in the face (morbid I know but thats just the type of people we are lol) He also goes by Booger and Boogieman.

Who in the sam h*ll would shoot a cat with buckshot?!?  Or anything else, for that matter.  I'm absolutely disgusted!  And I just said that in my head in Mrs. Weasely's voice.  Back to the point.  What the f*** is wrong with people?  This makes me so d*** angry!

Glad you adopted him.  He needs someone to love and protect him.  And if I knew who shot him, I'd make them WISH all I'd done was shoot them.

Yeah I was pissed too! I cant understand why someone would do that. I almost made the women cry at the shelter I adopted him from. I went to see another cat. She was nice but she didn't seem to want to adopt me. Wile I was holding her Niko came to me scratching at my leg. I handed my mom sunshine (the blind cat I went to see) I bent down to pick up Niko and the rescue lady said " you probably don't want to pick him up" I looked at her confused and asked why. she told me his story and I just looked down at his sweet boogery face and said "I don't care, gimme" He gave me the warmest sweetest hug and that was it I was a puddle on the floor. I went back the next day and adopted him. After I adopted him I found out this was his 3rd rescue shelter. The other rescues he was at didn't want to deal with his sneezing. The place I got him from is AMAZING and they would have kept him till he was adopted or he passed naturally.  I got his sneezing under control so now when he sneezes its mostly spit...Unless he just ate then its spit and food lol.

You're amazing.  Is there anything more that can be done for him?  It gets annoying to sneeze constantly.  Trust me - with my allergies, I've been there.

The only thing we can do is give him antibiotics every few months because he gets sinus infections vary easily. The bullet fragments are in areas that are to dangerous to remove and the hole in the roof of his mouth cant be fixed because the hole is to large (about the with of a pencil). Other than the sneezing and him being FIV+ hes vary healthy.  I have a soft spot for special needs animals and as long as their happy and have a good quality of life thats all I could ask for.

My mother named Shadow (they got him and Cali :rbheart: ) when I was away at college. I don't know the meaning/reasoning behind his name, but his 'proper' name is Carbonel. Cali was Calidor. Carbonel and Calidor are a pair of royal cats (actually father and son) from a children's book. Mum loves old children's stories!

Asha means hope in Sanskrit. I found Asha when I wasn't well, and she was in a dreadful state too - just a scared little furry skeleton with bruising, cuts and infected rat bites. She'd lost all her tummy and ear fur too, and probably wouldn't have lasted much longer. No one knew she existed - I was actually trying to trap another semi-feral, and was meowing at her to try and give her confidence. Suddenly I head these little mews comming from the cellar (very old farmyard) and this little black head popped up! I never did manage to trap the other cat, but Asha came home with me (via the vet for a thorough checkup). We gave each other hope, I think :heart3:

This is Griffin but we call him Griff. He gives me this snarl when I say hi to him so I thought he was a gruff little kitty which transformed to Griff. And now sometimes Griffy Pop. Poor kitty and my stupid nicknames!

I'm glad you took him in without condition [emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]127995[/emoji] And I'm glad he survived the shot.

Good job!

Good on you for adopting him, he is beautiful. I don't understand how anyone could want to hurt a animal it's just horrible.

@Amber85    I am in love with that baby!  How wonderful that you two found each other!  Sneezing or no, I would have taken him too.  I'm a sucker for the hard-luck cases myself.
