My moms sick, and to be honest, the last thing i want to be worrying about is her cat. But since we moved the cat out of my moms room she refuses to eat. She hasnt eaten in over a day. ive tried putting the plate everyone. she just lets the food spoil.

will she eventually give in and eat?

dont get me wrong, anyone that knows me here, knows that im a cat lover. its just that my head is filled with other things right now.

Having just moved into my apartment with Angel 3 weeks ago (she is 7, I have had her since she was 6 weeks old) , yes she will eat. Some cats don't adapt to change well, at least not right away. How old is she? Angel was eating by the end of the night on the first day though.

She does a lot better than most cats do but I think it's because she's so happy with me. Is she drinking or using the litter box? If she still doesn't eat, a vet visit would be in order but I am sure she will when she feels comfortable. Maybe try feeding her in one room rather than chasing her around with food. :) She'll adjust in her own time.

Hope your mom's getting better

Think you don't have to worry about your kitty, she'll eat when she's hungry enough. Meanwhile, make your presence felt so that she don't feel lost or feel abandoned. The more she sees you, the faster she'll get use to the place as she will learn that you did not dump her there.
Just leave the food lying around and check if she eats. Don't forget to change new food if she does not eat for a certain time. Leave water too.

thanks everyone! shes finally eating. i had to set her up with a microchip feeder. the cats would eat in separate rooms so they wouldnt steal. but now the dog was stealing from her as was my cat lol.
