Hi my cat has three kittens that are just over two weeks old,all look healthy and well apart from ones eye it looked like both eyes had opened but now one of it's eye is mainly shut we've cleaned it with lukewarm water looks abit better but not sure whether to take her to the vet.

There is a really good video on youtube how to swab the cats kitten's eye correctly - don't fret yet I had a ktiten do this, thought for sure both eyes opened then for some reason one stayed shut for a while.

As long as it's clean give it a few days for it to naturally open don't force or pry. Mine took another 5-7 days longer than the rest perfectly healthy.

Yeah I've had a look at some videos on YouTube about cleaning the kittens eyes. Cleaned it twice already today and looks alot better and it likes more open. will keep an eye on it, thanks for the advice.

You may need to see the vet for terramycin ointment for the eye if there is an infection. Is there green or yellow mucus? If so, that is infection.
