Thank you. I have to fast him by 10:00 tonight if I do it. I just spoke with my best friend, and he has a very good point of view. He knows me well enough to know that I will always second guess myself if I don't at least do the ultrasound. Biopsy is completely off the table in my mind. I can't risk that with Mukkia no matter what they say, or find, or do not find. I love him enough to not put him through that. I have to drop him off, but I am thinking about just waiting there until they are finished. I will update this post.

I agree with having the ultrasound done. You can always do the biopsy at a later date. Will he need to be put under for the ultrasound? I hope not

They are not sure. I was told that they (usually) do not sedate unless he is difficult to ultrasound him. If they do sedate him it would be a " light sedation."
Unless they find something that is urgent. Which I doubt is the case with Mukkia. So, I am thinking it is mostly for precautionary measures.

Sending you mega vibes, for thursday.  I think @Zed Xyzed said it the best.

I found that fasting a cat to be the most difficult part. In the morning, Mukkia will look at you and wonder, if you strangely forgot about breakfast.

Hoping that the ultrasound is very thorough, and you get good results.

Thank you. I apologize for not responding sooner; I have been with Mukkia. The fasting has been hard. It was breaking my heart before last night just thinking about it. For Mukkia, the fasting of the water has been the hardest, because that's what he mainly wants all of the time.

Unless it is a matter of urgency I will not know anything today. I seriously do not believe that is going to happen

I will still update the post after we are through with the ultrasound.

No apologies necessary, @Mukkia. I posted rather late, and figured that you should have been in bed or resting with Mukkia.

And I know how difficult it is to fast a cat. (Any other day, our cats could not care less for proper mealtimes and food, but somehow, I think they know that something is strange. I think it's the same for us humans, when we have to fast, also.)

I didn't know that you had to with-hold the water, too. I suppose it depends upon the type of ultrasound involved, or the test taken.

I hope your Mukkia did well with that.

Just update when you have time, and when you are well rested, too.

I know that having to go to the vet, seems to sap a lot of our energy, also. We try not to stress, so our cats don't stress, but it is rather difficult.  

cat nap ,I actually just got up from taking a little "cat nap" with Mukkia. [emoji]128568[/emoji] Everything went well. I will know something tomorrow. They completely shaved his abdomen, and a little further up than I thought they were going to. He has not eaten his food so far. I think he was still coming out of shock from the process. I asked them yesterday why he could not have water, because I wondered about that too. I was told that a little in the bladder is OK, but it helps to see more than when they have a lot. So, now we wait. They did shave the bottom of his front paws for me. I asked them to so I can get his pints this weekend, (if) all is well.

All in all, he has been a trooper through this process. I am proud of him, and enjoying the (extra) loving he is giving me today.[emoji]10084[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji] My mom holding him showing his little (I am tough) mark.

You know, Mukkia looks adorable, even shaved.

("Cat naps" are excellent, ...as long as you can also sleep at night...(I tend to overdue the 'cat naps'...myself. I should really set an alarm.)

Perhaps the sedative they gave him, is causing him not to eat, yet. And hopefully, you won't have to heat up his food, or use some ultra smelly food to entice him to eat.

But, yes, he still might be tired from the whole day, and a little shocked at his new haircut.

cat nap I know, I was surprised as to the fact that Mukkia and I slept for 2 1/2 hours![emoji]128571[/emoji]
He was not difficult at all to do the ultrasound process, so no sedation was used on him. I think he was just tired, and wanted to be near me. I have noticed throughout the years I am sort of a safety blanket for him. Plus, he is close to me.

I only give him his Science diet C/D. He actually prefers it opposed to anything else.

They shaved the long hair off the bottom of his front paws so that I can use children's finger paint, and have a copy of his (prints). Sorry, that was a typo. It's something that is special to me to have. I only wanted it done if it wasn't going to cause him unnecessary stress on top of that. He has a very good way of letting a strange person do something to him without hassle, which he will not allow me to do.

So far no more blood work that I know of. I am just hoping for an answer, but not bad. Rather, something easy to fix, and maybe just over looked. If that makes sense?

Thanks so much for the clarification. I re-read it, and was hoping it was prints, too. (I do typo's all the time)...but then I thought...maybe it's some new type of term for bloodwork, or new slang, or something. Thanks for clearing it up.

That's going to look good, getting those paw prints done.
You might even be able to get some of those plaster, or molding clay,...not sure which they use...and do those paw prints yourself.
I have read about that, that people do it themselves.

I like the idea of the finger paints, though. That sounds really nice.

(And yes, I think my cats also act all easy with strangers at the vet office...probably because they want to get out of there so fast...but when I trim nails, or give meds...then they act like I was the slowest, meanest or sneakiest person in the world. They get so fussy.)

I think now Mukkia will be enjoying that pink blanket, with you, even more.
(They say that napping for 90 minutes is one full sleep cylce...but I tend to nap for 2 hours, plus, also.)

(I think the sleeping 90 minutes in one sleep cycle, is only for humans,...light sleep, deep sleep, dream sleep,...but I don't know how many cycles we are supposed to get per night.)

But it would be kind of interesting to know how cats sleep. And if it is similar, in different phases.
They do seem to be all well-rested when they awake...so yes, I agree...it seems like they sleep a couple of days, then...in one day.
I love the way they fall asleep so quickly. :9:

I have not posted an update yet, because I have only spoken with the receptionist at the veterinarian's office. She relayed a brief summary for the doctor. I am waiting to hear from him today. The good news, everything looks good with all of Mukkia's internal organs. Intestines, pancreas, gallbladder, etc. Mukkia does not need a biopsy! [emoji]128568[/emoji]
So far, the only thing I do know is that his kidneys have scar tissue. I don't know exactly what this means,to what extent, or if there are any other abnormalities of the kidneys. I also do not know where we go from here.

That is excellent news !!     

I guess, the only thing to find out, now, ....is how the Vet thinks the scar tissue will affect Mukkia?

Will there be any future concerns, relating to this scar tissue?

Or can Mukkia manage it fine, on his own.

Are there any supplements, foods, treatments, or anything, that is helpful in helping Mukkia to filter out waste products?

And asking about what to look out for in the future? So that you know, roughly, how he's doing with his kidneys.

You have an amazing senior cat. Way to go Mukkia.    (I'm so glad you listened to that friend of yours, and got the ultrasound done.)
