Ok, I have a mama cat and I feed her very well with extra food and water for her four kittens. She darts outside about once a day and somehow found a way back in my trailer where my garden tub is. Thats strange all in itself. It took me a long while to figure this out. I would find half of rabbits with a huge mess and be flabbergasted at how she managed to get them in without me noticing! Lol Why is she insisting to feed her babies field mice and rabbits? They have plenty of food and the kittens fight over the presents she brings. Sometimes the enter ALIVE, and the kittens play with them before eating. I dare not take these presents away because these kittens act very aggressive to each other when they have it and I'm kinda affraid to get my hands too close. Also, it seems the mother works hard to do this and I'm sure there is a reason she does it. She literally brings full grown rabbits in! Lol it's freaky

Mom is trying to teach her kittens how to take care of themselves. There are several reasons why you need to stop her, though.

1. Mom should not go outside until she is spayed. She can get pregnant again at any time now and without going into heat. It's not healthy for her to have back to back litters.

2. There are parasites and diseases outside. These hazards exist just in the grass, but it's especially concerning if mom is bringing wild animals into your house.

3. Worms. Everyone needs to be dewormed!

I think I have successfully blocked her secret entrance. Also, I'm gonna be taking them all to get wormed and have shots soon. Can she be spayed while still nursing? I took her in from a friend who was moving and she said that she has tried so many times to get her fixed but she is always pregnant when she takes her! She had the same problem with her darting out so quickly when the door is open. Unfortunately i have a dog who goes out to potty and it's even harder to keep her in.

Mom and kittens can be confined to a room if needed to stop her escapes. It's very important!

She can be spayed while nursing. How old are the kittens now?

Mom and kittens are residing in my walk in closet now. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. The kittens are nearing 8 weeks.

That sounds like a great solution!

They can all be spayed and neutered when the kittens are 8 weeks. That's also the right time for first vaccines and deworming. I would spay mom as soon as possible.
