I have a 2 year old rescue cat that we found when he was a week old. Geppetto weighs 20lbs, much higher than an average domestic shorthair. I saw Maine coons weigh up to 25lbs full grown and he has another year to go. I know he isn't a Maine coon mix but just curious to see what you guys think. I've never had a cat this big.

I'm not sure what he is but he is a beauty! I have a cat I took in for a friend that looks very much like him. Her name is Sparta and she came here pregnant. Originally she is from Ohio and funny thing is she had a son who the vet swears is Maine Coon. He is like 30 lbs. She is a very large cat as well. I have another kitten of hers and he looks a lot like pet quality Bengal.

His name is Ziggy Stardust.

Mr Carpenter is a domestic shorthair on the face value, broken mackerel in pattern.

But being so big, its not impossible he has some Maine Coon ancestry.   why, a maine coon mating with a shorthair could easily give exactly this result...

A big fellow whom is a shorthaired tabby - as most MCO are tabbies, and tabby is dominant, while longhair is recessive.

I have no idea, but he's beautiful.  I've always been a major cat person, but I've never paid attention to breeds.  I just love them all.

I'm expecting my boys to get pretty big, too.  My aunt sent me this picture of their parents.

The cat on the left is their mother.  She's a normal sized cat.  The other one is daddy.  Compared to her, he's huge.  And my boys are already as big as a full grown cat at 5 months old.

Had no idea longhair is recessive, so now I can see him having some Maine coon. Thank you for the info!

I suspect your kitties will be very big cats when they are fully grown. I have a 9 month old young cat/kitten that is larger than both of my other full grown cats (the other 2 weigh 10 and 13 pounds). At 5 months he weighed 9 lbs!
Now he is pushing 16lbs and is still not fully grown!

Tesla now (9 months):

He looks fat, but trust me he is like 75% fluff/fur. I wish I had more pictures of him standing up so you coyld really see his size.

I'm definitely expecting them to be enormous.  And they're gonna eat me out of house and home!  They went through a 15lb bag of cat food in their first 3 weeks and they were only about 10 weeks old when I got them.
