Hi All,

My 5 year old had her first litter of kittens last Saturday, 3 little white boys.

Kittens all healthy and getting nice and big already, queen is doing well for her first litter, she's eating slowly but she's doing well.

She's had a little bleeding over the last few days (can see spots on towel she's on) it's not heavy at all just like a discharge. This morning when I woke up and went to check on her there was a big clump of what I can only describe as looked like skin from inside - didn't have much blood on it just was the size between a marble and a bouncy ball.

I cleared it up and half hour later there was another one.

Anyone have any idea what this could be? Shall I be concerned?

Other than being tired she is fine within herself, cuddly, purring, loving having her kittens, she's even become affectionate towards the dog!

It is likely leftover material from the pregnancy that her uterus is sloughing off. The spotting of blood is normal for about a week after giving birth.

At 5 years old she is not a young mom. The risk of complications during labor and delivery increases with maternal age. Have you considered spaying her after this litter weans?

Thank you! She's always been an indoors cat in a way....  - we lived in a top floor penthouse and she always had the run of the 4 balconies. Now we've just moved into a house and she's loving some more room. But she will be taking a trip BACK to the vet as when we took her before they informed us she was expecting. A shock to say the least!!
