I've never heard of diametaciousearth  I'll have to look it up
The food grade DE is finely ground shells, so fine that they can be eaten even, yet their microscopic shell slivers cut the fleas up and they dry out and die.

Some people swear that taking a spoonful a day has greatly improved and even cured their tummy ailments!

The DE powder can be spread all over the carpeting, their bed, everywhere, leave it for a few days then vacuum. It's messy but does work effectively.

The worst reviews for this flea treatment is that some people say they didn't see any diff until the second time they put it all over.

It can also be put on the mom and kitten like a talcum powder.

MUST be called food grade though.

Where can I purchase this? Do I have to buy it online?

I gave the mom a bath, but not the baby yet, he seemed hungry so I want to feed him..are there any other safe remedys for fleas on a 4 week old kitten? I just wanna do everything I can. I actually didn't see that many fleas on mama kitty, I bathed her and brushed her out with a fine tooth brush, not many fleas but she's got a lot of dandruff

Yeah there was a little bit, like I got some fleas off and there was the rest tint to the water and everything I just didn't see as many as I thought..
And no I don't have a legit flea comb or a lice comb, but I used my moms thin briasle comb and I used a per brush that's wire and thin so it got some of the fleas too

UPDATE:
Okay so, both mama and baby kitty got a bath today. I vacuumed once total today, and plan to vacuuming again tomorrow. I've changed the bedding in the cat carrier for the baby twice today, I've also let him out to play, he's not super active but he can walk, bite my finger, and plays a little with my hand. He pees on his own but, I have not seen him poop and even though they should be able to go on their own at 4 weeks, I've been wiping his genitals with a warm/damp rag to try and get him to go after I feed him. I also have gotten him to eat just a little bit more than he was, his belly looks fuller so I'm HOPING he will poop SOON!

As of right now, we are keeping the baby in a cat carrier in our room, we were letting mama kitty go in the cage with him so he could eat more, but someone had mentioned to completely supplement him instead of confusing him by going back and forth from mamas teets, to bottle..which I thought was a good idea since 1 we can't leave her alone with him anyways cause she keeps trying to move him into the high shelf in the closet and 2 since we've took away moms teets he seems to eat a little more (we'll see, hopefully it sticks)

But anyways I was wondering, should I still let mama kitty see her baby? She will still clean him and love on him, but we can't leave them alone together, and we can't let him suckle from her because I want him to stick to the bottle so he gets used to it and eats more..

I'm so new at this I just want him to be okay, and my poor mama kitty [emoji]10084[/emoji]

Also,he's in our room sleeping in the cat carrier right now, but the cat carriers not closed cause he's by himself, I keep checking on him but I wanna let him get a little sleep..

When we go to sleep I was thinking about having him in the cage, closed, and having mama kitty in the bedroom so they can see each other but she can't move him

Find what works best for you and the kitten. If he's not getting enough milk he needs to nurse his mom too.

How much and how often is he drinking from the bottle?

Catwoman told you he needs 128 mLs every 24 hours, and at least 10-15 mLs per feeding. If he doesn't get this much, he'll starve unless he gets plenty from his mom.

I stopped letting him eat from her cause I was scares he'd stop with the bottle and she wasn't feeling him enough...
And I feed him like every hour or hour & a half, because he will only eat 5mls at once, but at 8:30 this morning he ate 10mls in one sitting, and then at 10 wish, he ate almost 10 but not quite..

I'm really trying to get him to eat with the bottle so I know how much he eats..
Also we fed him a little Hills urgent care a/d soft food we got from the vet..he likes to lick it off our fingers

Do you think he's eating enough?
I feed him about every hour and a half, and he eats anywhere from 5-10 mls at once, like one sitting he will eat roughly 8mls, then the next two sittings he'll eat 5mls, but then one after that he'll eat 10mls. His sittings fluctuate so much..but every time I fees him and he's done and tries to pull away really bad, I still try and fees him a little more, always just trying at least two drinks more.

Also, me and my boyfriend don't sleep at the same time anymore, so someone's always up to feed him. So there's never a time he goes like 5 hours without eating.. He says literally every 1-2 hours.

I just keep posting here cause I wanna do my best to keep him alive...I've never had to do this kind of stuff before, and you all have helped me through this so much..

Yes, it sounds to me like he is getting enough the way you are feeding him. It does not have to be the full amount at each feeding since you are able to feed frequently. The most important thing is to get the full 128 or so into him over a 24-hour period. So far it sounds like he is doing well. As he grows, the amount will increase. Continue encouraging him to lick the wet food from your finger as well.

You are doing a great job and you have some of the best help chiming in with advice. You are a godsend to momma and the little one. I am so sorry the other little ones didn't make it, you did everything possible.

I feel so bad for the kittens who didn't make it..they were all doing so well and then they just started fading so fast :/ I will always keep them in my heart [emoji]10084[/emoji]
