Community,
Thank you so much for guidance in working with my rescue /adopted Calico , Gemma. From Catsite , I learned to trim her claws at home. She now lets me do this easily. Unfortunately, she is still destroying the furniture when I am away for a long weekend or business trip.
Please help! I have put "scratchers" in several places , sprinkeled with catnip. She does use them and I give her praise. A strong "NO!" will send her away from bad behaviour, but the problem is this happens when I am not home. I have spent two months' salary re-covering my chairs :(
There is a product "soft paws" which the veterarinan applies. Caps over the claws . Does anyone have experience? Please advise?
Thanks!

No direct experience, but tons of second hand experience.  One and all, my friends who have used them are thrilled.  They can, with some practice, be applied at  home, as well as by the vet.

Meanwhile, double-sided tape will make your furniture VERY unattractive to your pussycat.  They HATE that stuff!
