Simba

Hello. Our new kitten is 13 weeks old Tabby. His name is Simba. This is our first pet, he was very shy but hes starting to become more open and friendly.

We seem to notice he likes to hide around my two young kids, my one son has been trying very hard to befriend him but Simba just hides.

Also, whenever I pet him or he wants me to pet him he likes to get his paws out and sometimes every scratch, so I have been thinking of getting the soft claw caps, is that a good idea? Would it make him frustrated?

Just wanted to welcome you and Simba to TCS. How old is Simba?
My guess is that Simba hides from your sons because young children tend to move quickly and unexpectedly and can be loud. These are things that cats can be afraid of. This article may help:
