Revolution and licking

When I apply Revolution to my cat, her behaviour is

1. She puts a face hinting she hates the smell

2. She ignores it for some 5 minutes

3. She then starts licking around it for quite a while, sometimes 20 minutes.

Expected behaviour?

It is completely normal, my cat does the same when I give him flea treatment on the back. Did you put it high enough on the neck? Even if she licks some of it it's nothing serious, it is designed to taste very bad to force her not to lick it off. She will lick and scratch with the back legs during the whole day, I think you should be ready for that I think. There is nothing else you can do, maybe try to stop her when you see her licking or scratching but that's it. Don'r stress too much about it, it will work. Oh also, if she has fleas on her body you should expect to see dead fleas near where she is sleeping now. They'll probably be there after 3-4 hours of applying the product and she should stop having fleas almost immediately.
