Did the vet ever give you antibiotic ointment for the eyes when they were little?

Sounds very painful for the kitten! Did the vet prescirbe painkillers or antibiotics to help it heal?

No.. All i was given were eye drops. I looked at her eye the next morning, and there is a second piece like the cloudy one, but cloudy white and red. I really think they ripped out part of her eye without knowing what was wrong...

Can you take her to a different vet? If it is, in fact, and eye injury, that's very serious.

How are the other kittens? Mom and dad being ok with being separated? It would be great if you updated the other thread!

I dont have money to pick my vet at the moment..and my roommate works at a vet clinic and helped me before. I definitely didn't expect my kitten to come back worse.
Yes I will have to take a pic and update the other thread! [emoji]128156[/emoji]

Thanks to the lack of care from the vet.. Her eye now needs a surgery to be removed. Her eye is now popping out of her sockwt with a scab of some sort over it.. I keep apologizing to her and I'm now treating everyone day like her last...

We have a kitten at the shelter whose eye looked very much like that when he arrived at 4 weeks. The vet wanted his weight to at least double before surgery (enucleation), which he had last Friday. It's healing nicely. He was blind in that eye even before it was removed, so it's a relief that it's over. :vibes::vibes::vibes: for your little one!

Hmm, OK! I wonder if the surgery should be costly.. I want to keep her, but if someone else gives her a home and can spend money on a surgery and whatever she needs that I can't provide, I will have to do so. In the meanwhile o can start fattening her up. What did you use to make the kitten gain weight? Wet food? A mix and adding more meals? Or was the kitten still on formula

I'm not sure exactly..it was the same clinic. They removed the eye and stitched it shut.. I've been giving her vitamins and medicine as well as lots of cuddles [emoji]128525[/emoji]

They may be able to offer you a discount if you bring in mom at the same time. Definitely keep them both 100% inside and away from intact males until they are done.

All my cats are indoors except my fixed male. He comes and goes. I was thinking of letting the kitten heal up a bit before she gets more stitches
