It may sound like blasphemy, but I am a puppyraiser. I have raised 16 pups for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, and 3 for America's VetDogs. I love Labrador puppies!

BUT, service dog puppies aren;t allowed on furniture or in beds, so we recently got a sibling pair of cats from the animal shelter. They are adapting to our home and our 13 year old lab.

We haven't had cats for about 5 years, so it is almost like starting from scratch. The first issue is the litter box. Litter everywhere! We have two boxes next to each other, with bath rugs underneath, but oh! the mess!

Oh, man! This was supposed to be a Howdy! message, and here I am complaining already!

Sigh.

Not blasphemy at all!  You'd be surprised how many of us adore dogs, myself included!  Welcome to TCS to you, your kitties and your lab.
  What's going on with the litter?  Are they just digging to the center of the earth or are they just tracking it out?  There are mats you can get that are supposed to minimize spread, so perhaps something like this would help?  Here's a quick search on amazon to give you some idea of what's available:

Hope to see you and your furry ones around the forum.  And take pictures!  We love photos around here.

Welcome.  My cats are also litter throwers.  One thing that helps is the cat boxes with higher sides.  Petco has some.

Welcome to TCS

I think most people here adore pretty much any animals. I sure do (except for roaches, I really don't like them
)

Litterboxes are a huge deal in cat care. You can post about how to prevent litter tracking in the cat care forum and ask for tips and I'm sure you'll get a bunch!

I recently put together a guide to all of our litter and litterbox articles on the site -
