Cat gender abbreviation on vet records, what does this mean?

For the genders of cats on vet records, I am used to seeing the following abbreviations:

F - female, not spayed

FS - female, spayed

M - male, not neutered

MN - male, neutered

I recently took several cats to a low-cost spay neuter clinic, and the vet the clinic used seemed to use the same abbreviations, except they labeled one of the cats' genders as RAM -- she was an intact female, now she's spayed.

What does RAM mean?

Was the handwriting messy? It's possible they wrote FS and it looked like RAM. If not, does your kitty have rheumatoid arhtiris? RA is short for that. I would contact your vet and ask them. Every clinic might have a short variation of abbreviations that are specific to them. Might mean the clinic name or something else.

It's actually typed -- don't know if the person who transcribed the notes into their electronic system screwed up typing though.

I will have to see if I can figure out who the vet is -- I am not sure what vet office was volunteering to help with the spay/neuter clinic, but I do have the names of the actual veterinarians that were there.

I would venture to guess if multiple people were working there, it's a typo/error. But, good to get corrected as you want your kitty to be identified via the correct gender :)
