Our baby girl Francie left this world around 9pm after a month long battle with idiopathic chylothorax. A piece of my heart left with her. During her chest tap she went into cardiac arrest and was not able to be resuscitated. She fought so very hard until the end. We tried our best to make her better but the disease was too strong. This is not the ending I would have written for her. This ending, like so many others, was unfair and feels unfinished. I hope she is playing in the sun, eating an unlimited supply of turkey, waiting patiently for her sissy Henrietta and two Dad's to arrive. One day I hope to hold you again, my sweet chubby princess, one day.

What a beautiful tribute for a true princess of the feline world! She sounds like a wonderful companion and family member and will be missed by all. That warrior heart quit beating, but the spirit of that precious girl will continue to live on in the hearts of those that held her so dear. She will never leave you, the bond that was forged over the years, link by link of love and caring, can never be broken. Use that link. along with your precious memories, to comfort yourself in your time of grief. She would never want you to be so sad when remembering her, as you would want for her if the roles were reversed. Celebrate what she brought into your life, she brought you much more than you know, concentrate on the happiness she brought into your family, not the sadness of the end. It is as she would wish for the ones she loved above all others. She fought a valiant fight, but she is at rest now, at peace knowing she was so very loved and will never be forgotten.

We are always angry at the fates, at our inability to change the course of life. This is a normal reaction to not being able to change the past, to change what we did or said, and to take back what we wish we had never done. This is called grieving. There is no such thing as a perfect end to a perfect life.We learn from our experiences in the past and strive to change things in the present to form the future.  It is up to us to accept the things we cannot change and learn from the past, or to beat ourselves up over something we have no control over. There will always be something we regret, it is something we inherit as humans. When something like this happens and we lose someone we love so very much, we always look back and wish to change something or feel as you do, cheated. You gave that sweet girl a home and your love, that is all she ever wanted.

I'll pray for you all, give those left behind a kiss from me, they are grieving too. A broken heart takes a long time to heal. Look to the skies and know she will send her love to you all, the pure bright light that is her star will surround you and help to light the way. She is absent from your life but never gone from your heart.  Treasure your memories and call on them, she will be there.  Take care and know you are not alone, we truly understand your pain. Take care......RIP beautiful Francie, you fought so hard and now need to rest, you will be held in loving hearts forevermore!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Francie was absolutely gorgeous.

You did everything you possibly could and the fact that she fought so hard to overcome her illness is proof positive of how much she loved her sister and both of her dads. She will always be with you. The bond that all of you share is unbreakable, unshakable and irreplaceable. Death no longer even tries to break these bonds because after trying and failing so many times, it finally threw it's hands up in the air and said, " I give up". These bonds truly last forever.

You will see your sweet girl again when the time is right. Until then, she will watch over all of you with much love. She made it to the bridge in the blink of an eye and she is being lovingly cared for by the many caregivers that the Cat Goddess has there to look after her dear departed babies. She is in good company- she is safe, whole and healthy again. When you reunite with her one day, your friendship will pick right back up again like no time has passed. She will be just as happy to see you as you will be to see her.

Please do not blame yourselves for her passing because I promise you- she does not. Take time to grieve. Be there for each other and hold onto all the wonderful memories you shared with her. She will be holding onto those memories as tightly as you will.

I'm so sorry about your dear Francie.  I'm not sure there is any good ending that could be written because we don't want to ever say goodbye.  Hugs.

Thank you to everyone who replied. I am so very devastated. I miss her so much. I was always anti-cat until I

got her and she completely changed my thinking and my life. I didn't get to tell her goodbye. I hope she knows how much

I loved her and that I'm sorry her last moments were in distress in a veterinary office, which she hated so much. Heartbroken.

We have two others cats, who I love dearly, but just don't have that special connection to like I did Francie. She was just a magical, sweetheart.

@Slufferk   I understand fully when you say:  We have two others cats, who I love dearly, but just don't have that special connection to like I did Francie. She was just a magical, sweetheart.

My heart goes out to you and your family as you mourn the loss of your sweet voluptuous gal Francie.  I'm still missing my boy after 2 months and although my girl is the sweetest loving gal, I can't help but miss that forever bond I shared with my sweet boy, he read my mind.  What I've learned is -  grieving is the easy part and the absence is painful part.  However, with that said - I have been told how lucky I was to have had that unbreakable bond with this little creature, some don't get that with their fur babies.

So I tell you, the bond you shared with Francie is the most special bond built on love & trust, and will live on in your heart until you get to see her someday.

It's amazing how they take over us, and make us aware of a love we never knew we had within.

I'm sorry if my words sound scrambled, but my heart is truly breaking for you.

You and your loved ones are in my thoughts & prayers.

Hope

@Slufferk  if it helps, you've come to the right place because we all understand where you are right now.  Be careful who you tell though.  Not everyone understands like we do, so protect your heart.  More hugs!

I'm so sorry for your loss of your beautiful Francie and I'm so sorry you were unable to be there to say goodbye. She does know how much you love her and she is watching over you from the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. She is no longer in pain and yes, there is unlimited turkey. She is at peace and hopes for you to begin moving towards peace as well.
Francie taught you many amazing lessons and opened your heart to a love of cats that you never thought you had inside you. She will always hold a special place in your heart. Be kind to yourself slufferk slufferk [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

She would have known how much you loved her. I'm a great believer that it's much more important how something lives, than how long it stays or how it dies. I suspect Francie lived a life of joy, loved and treasured. For the rest of your life when people ask if you like cats, you'll remember that she was the one that turned you into someone that said "yes". Right now that will cause you pain but, in time, believe it or not, that will make you smile when you remember her, even if it is tinged with a bit of sadness. She was very, very pretty.

Thank you for fighting for her, and alongside her, that's all the love any pet needs.
