My friend Sam has a rescued kitty that has not been spayed yet. This morning she called me and said that there is dryed blood around her vagina, but that she is acting normal. She's worried and made an appiontment for tommarow afternoon. Shes been looked at by the vet before and had all vaccinations. The vet said that she is probably about a year old. Shes had her for four months now so she knows she's not pregnant. I'm just wondering what would cause a cat to bleed from there if shes not pregnant?

I would say that this cat might be pregnant. You say she knows for certain that she is not, she can find out by just taking the cat in to the vet and letting him see her.

She can't be pregnant because it's the only cat she has and it's indoor, and she's had her since Oct. 4th. Isn't the gestation period like 69 days?

Pregnant or not, the fact that the cat seems to be bleeding is probable cause to bring her to the vet.
In any case, did your friend check for wounds? It may be a miniscule scratch or scrape.

I just called her and she said that it doesn't look like there are any scratches, but that there is still a little dried blood around the vulva. I just hope it's nothing serious. When she takes her in to the vet this afternoon, she's going to set up a spay appointment if she can. Well, hope this little sweet girl's gonna be OK!:angel2:
