Hello, i have 4 cats one of which just had babies 8 weeks ago. I have 5 little kitties running around being playful and going in the litter box, everthing seemed fine. A couple of days ago i noticed one of the kittens was vommiting white foam. I was nervouse at first of course so i kept an eye on her for the rest of the day. She wouldnt eat any of the food i gave her, when she had before. She wont eat dry food, wet food, or even milk replacement, all she wants is her moms milk. With them being so old already mom doesnt feed them as much, which worries me. I know shes not getting all the nutriens she need but i dont know what to do. I have also seen some grayish poo in the litter box but i cant confirm it was her. No i did not vaccinate my kittens, the rest are fine and my 4 adult cats i have never got shots and i havent had any problema with them. So i will stick to my natural method. I would take her to the vet but i am extremly low on money, which is why im trying to figure out if i really need to take her in or if i can help her on my own. Ive been all over google and have found nothing so anything would be helpful!

I'm not sure if you re using CLUMPIING litter, but we dont advise using clumping litter with young kittens because the babies often eat just a little but it can form a clump in their intestine and block them.  It is possible this kitten was a litter eater and is now blocked and cannot pass anything.   She will not eat if she is blocked but she will still nurse because that is what kittens do for comfort. The white foam may be her mother's milk coming back up.   If you are NOT using clumping litter, then don't worry, but if you ARE, call your vet.  It costs nothing to CALL the vet and see if he has any recommendations to unblock a kitten.

Try feeding the kitten Gerber turkey or chicken baby food on your finger. I agree that you should also speak to a vet.

Yes i do believe i have been using clumling litter i will call my vet first thing in the morning. I just went out to get pate canned food and mixed it with the replacement milk and tried to put a little on her lips but she just licked her lips and seemed uninterested.

So i called my vet and they dont have anything open until tomorrow afternoon so I'm going to try and force feed her today. I have slippery elm powder that I've been giving mama for her digestive problems so i tried a mix of that and cool water and put it on her paws amd she licked off some but shook the rest off. I would say she weighs about 2 pounds so depending on this how many ml should i feed her and how often? I read where you can get a/d amd make a grule, would it be possible to add some slippery elm mix or is there a better mix i should try?

I think you should try the Gerber turkey baby food mixed into a slush with KMR, and see if you can get some of that into her. It smells good, is high protein, and cats usually like it.

At the very least, you need to get clear pedialyte into her.

Let me know how this goes. She'll need an x-ray or ultrasound at the vet's tomorrow.

KMR is kitten milk replacer. Kitten formula.

You can also just feed the baby food straight. It's got a soft consistency by itself.

Just get clear pedialyte - not flavored.

Yes, the clear pediolyte for babies.

Most kittens when theyre first learning/using the litter box for the first couple weeks or so WILL eat the litter, who knows why but they do, clumping litter has stuff they make plastic from, so you can imagine if it were to be eaten, and clumps in the intestines.

Plenty of fluids is best and her keeping this down is a good thing.

I have to disagree with you not vaccinating them as kittens too, these are called their CORE vaccines, and not getting the series of 3 during kittenhood can affect them later on in life too.

All it does is activates their immune responses to the most common illnesses. It's for their protection, and if you can't afford to, find the local monthly clinics that most feed stores have, like the VIP clinic. Very cheap.

Even if indoor only, you still bring viruses in on your shoes, it's inevitable.

Can you imagine if you walked on grass sometime and brought panleukopenia to them? You would lose them all, and nobody wants to go through and live with that kind of regret.

I come back with some good news! I took littlw miss pumpkin to the vet just a little bit ago, the vet said they didnt feel anyrhing in her stomach and it didnt seem painful to her, so she tried to give her some of their food or water but she didnt take. They ended up giving her aome fluids and a shot as well as some strong dewormer. She gave me some more fluids and antibiotics that i have to give her twice a day. I was feeling a little better since i had something i knew woyld at least help her and the fact that she didnt feel anything serious. She also told me that i shouldnt give them pediolyte because it can mess with them and not give them all the nutrients they need, also that it can be dangerous force feeding them beacuse it could get into thir lungs and cause pneumonia so in the end im glad i just took her in. I havent even gotten to the best part yet! As soon as i got home i went to feed all the other cats and i brought a spoonful to her and she started eating!! She only took a couple licks but its a start!! I can start her on her meds in the morning and hopefully its up hill from there!

Oh, that's wonderful! [emoji]128571[/emoji]

Do you know what the shot was? And which antibiotic they put her on?

I hope she continues to learn to eat!
