Hey all [emoji]128512[/emoji]
I've just joined today and have posted a question about my kitten Billy and while flicking through the site I came across this forum and wanted to mention my lovely boy Freddie who sadly died on 5/5/16 aged 4 years, he was rendered paralysed by a large saddle thrombi and his pulses were quickly severed in his back end,the wonderful vet tried everything possible to save him but in the end I had to agree to have him put down, it is by a mile the most heart breaking thing I've ever done and will never forget hearing him crying as i walked into the vets that morning, as soon as he saw me he stopped crying and I think he thought I was there to take him home.even though I know he would never of recovered and was in pain it still feels although I should of tried more to save him, they'll always be a Freddie shaped hole in our lives and in our home. I keep his Ashes near me and Billy the kit has bought much needed joy to us since Fred died,I'm just glad I got to mention my special boy.

This is my lovely Freddie x

I'm so sorry for your loss of Freddie.  What an adorable baby, what a sweet little face.  Unfortunately, his condition was one that would be very hard to overcome, but it is a blessing you had a great vet that tried.  You did everything you could.  Please take comfort in having made his life special and filled with love.

I'm so sorry for your loss especially for the traumatic circumstances in which they occurred. My heart breaks for you. Freddie was indeed beautiful and he had a wonderful life with you. Freddie is smiling on the the other side of that Rainbow Bridge knowing that you have opened your heart to little Billy. He wants you to feel joy again. Know that Freddie is no longer in pain and is at peace.

You can feel the love that has shaped your tribute, but also the pain and anguish that comes with saying goodbye. If your vet could not save that sweet boy, you should not feel guilt over something that was beyond your control. I will never understand why things like this happen, the ones we love should never have to go through something like this, but when they do it is up to us to be strong and to take away the pain and the fear and give them the peace they deserve. When your sweet Freddie left you, he took a piece of your heart with him to seal the bond you forged over the last four years. He left you a piece of his to remind you of his love and along with your precious memories, to be able to comfort you in your time of grief. He would never want you to be so sad when remembering him, try not to dwell on the end, but celebrate having that boy in your life and treasure all that he brought into it.  The 'essence' that is Freddie will be with you forever, like love it is not a physical thing, but spiritual, it is bonded to your very soul and he will always be a part of you.

The legacy of love that he passed to you will be shared now with Billy, he will look on with joy and happiness while you forge a new bond with this new love of your heart. It will never replace the love you two have shared, but will coexist with it, side by side, never the same but rather like the many loves a mother has for several children.  Let the sadness fade, Freddie is at peace now and there is nothing that can be done to change the past. Live and love in the present and allow sunshine back into your heart where that precious boy resides. Take care,  kiss Billy for me and tell him about the big brother he has that is sending his love to him on the gentle summer breeze. Take care and know you are not alone..........RIP sweet Freddie, you have left this world way too soon, but the heavens have gained a beautiful angel, know you will never be forgotten and will reside forever in a loving heart!

So sad to hear, but he was very much loved, you did all that you could, we always think that we should have done more or could have done more, but looking back on the many we have lost we realize with time that we did all that we could, but the loss if heartbreaking.

Rest in peace sweet boy, play and be happy and healthy at the Bridge.....
