Just checking to see how bad "hairball season" is...and what are you doing to treat them?

Hmmm. are they long haired?  What are you feeding them?

I've got one longish haired, and one short haired, and we rarely brush either because they don't care for it and won't sit still.  But, I only feed them high quality wet food with lots of extra filtered water added, probiotics and the EYL.  That and freeze dried raw as treats.  I don't know what the difference might be.  Oh, and BTW, it's been overly HOT where we live, so I would expect them to be shedding more.

They get Natures Variety canned.  It is the best quality canned I can find. Distilled water also..and a probiotic.  I suppose I could add more water to the canned food.  AND I brush both with the furminator.  Its been HOT here too, but Ihave  had the AC on most of the day when its hot.

/Distilled water?  I've heard that's not really good as the only source of water because is has absolutely NO minerals in it that most water has.  And it can actually cause deficiencies in sodium and potassium.  This thread discusses it, and if you google it, you'll find other references that state the same:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/275188/oh-distilled-water-how-i-missed-thee

Does your Vet know you use this for their drinking water?  'course, they probably don't drink much since they eat canned food.

Yes.  And on the other hand,  especially if one has a male cat, minerals in the water can contribute to crystals in the urine?  I t hink this is a debated issue...I have had my cats on distilled water for more than a decade. I think they probably get their mineral needs met from their food...When I first got Obi, he had a blockage.  I did not want that to happen ever again.  And I lost a cat to crystals in the bladder.
