I just got my kitten spayed on Wednesday and nines wondering if the stitches looked normal. I am a bet paranoid person. I read something that said if they tear or come out the kittens organs will start falling out or something. Can someone tell me if this looks normal?

It looks fine to me, seems to be healing up nicely.

Things to watch out for are heat in that area (it feels much hotter to the touch than other parts of her belly).

Pus or any strange smell, which could indicate an infection.

Bleeding or discharge

This article explains in more detail.

You can always e-mail a picture to your vet if you are worried, but it looks like a normal spay incision to me.

It is only small and I can see no reason to worry.  Don't panic. You should do what @Norachan has advised in answer to your last post. BTW.  I am a human doctor, not a cat doctor so you should also ring up your vet and tell him/her what has happened..

Okay 1st question is what will happen if the stitches (the ones they put on the inside) come apart?

Second question what should I do if they come apart?

And third question will my kitten show any sign of pain or anything?

Norachan gave you good advice. The only other thing  you can do is contact your vet.  We are not veterinarians so they are really the only one who can tell you for certain if there is an issue. We can share experiences. We cannot diagnose from a picture. That would be irresponsible and against TCS rules actually.

The chances of these happening is probably extremely rare.  If you suspect something is wrong; contact your vet or an emergency vet if it is after hours.  Do not delay treatment because you are waiting for internet responses.

1. The buried stitches are most unlikely to come apart.  They are very strong and are deep in the tissues.

2. Contact your vet immediately - but stay reassured that coming apart is most unlikely.  Signs of it coming apart are the appearance of a deep slit where the operation was and the cat may show distress.  I am now a physician but when I was a junior doctor I once had to stitch up a woman where the stitches had come apart after a gynaecological operation. (The buried stitches had prevented the internal organs in the abdomen from protruding).  When I contacted the surgeon, he just said - "Stitch it up like a good fellow, will you?" - So I did!

3. Cats seem to tolerate the operation remarkably well,  3 days after her operation Sukie, our cat (see the Avatar), was running around freely and eating very well!   Signs of pain may be drowsiness and the cat would be off her food.  Watch out for inflammation of the wound, however, this would be shown by an increased discharge from the wound, swelling and increased tenderness.  If this happens, you should seek veterinary advice as you may need antibiotics.

With regards,

Geoffrey

Thank you so much I just needed someone to tell me that these things I think are gonna happen are really rare. Now I might stop having emotional breakdowns about it
