Hi I just joined. My cat, Sammy Davis, has developed a runny eye with clear goopy mucus in his eye. I've tried cleaning it with diluted boric acid, but after a day it gets foot again. I read lysine can help or change in his food. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Welcome to the Catsite tamijoy1967 :wavey:

I suggest you bring him to the vet instead of self medication.

My cat Misha gets that for a day or so after every visit with the vet. I have NO idea why. It makes no sense to me. She just had it a couple days ago after her surgery removing her staples that were in her spay incision. Misha's watery gunky eye, however, only lasted for about 36 hours or so.

If your cat's eye is not only filling up with the gunk, but he is closing his eye half way or whatever then you need to take him to the vet so they can prescribe some antibiotic eye-drops. Please don't self medicate your kitty. You could be doing more harm than good.
