How should I try to sell my old piano?

I have a 1920's player piano.  I know these are not valuable by any means, but I would like to get some money for it.

I contacted a couple of local places that sell used pianos, but they don't take upright player pianos.

I really want this thing out of my house. I've had it 11 years (it was a gift), and never use it. In fact, I don't even play the piano! I only accepted it, thinking I would take lessons--but then found out from a piano teacher that it takes 6 years to become proficient. I don't have time, as I am very involved with a non-profit I volunteer for.

I'm not comfortable with strangers coming into my house, but I would be o.k. with someone from a piano business, especially if DH were there.  I think eBay would be problematic, as well.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Would you be able to sell or consign it to a Antiques store?

Kijiji!!!!

List it for 3x what you think it's worth and see what kind of offers you get. Can't hurt, and you might just find a sucker.

If you don't want people coming into your home put it in the garage. Or try your best to weed out potential buyers so only serious buyers view it.

Or, if you take alot of good pictures you may just receive a good offer over the phone and you can sell it without having to show it to anybody.

Either way, it wouldn't hurt to just put it on there.

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. We no longer have the piano.
