I have a "Kitten" who was found in December in the back alley of my street house, the Vets have said from the size an weight when found that he was born early October...
I have been feeding him on Kitten food but just lately he has been eating it as soon as it's being put down, so wondering if it was too early to switch him to regular Cat Food instead???
I know that it's only a month an half early but was thinking he already weights 5.1kg's and don't know if that's a factor in it all at all...

Hi, thank you for taking in the kitten.
Your kitten is around 10 months old and is still a kitten till he reaches a year to be an adult cat. You never mention what breed he is and some breeds takes 3 years to become adult cats.
It's normal that once you put down the food, they'll start eating. My boy does that too.
A kitten need all the nourishments from kitten food in order to grow. Your kitty's weight is in good range. There are some food that are for all life stages. If you can't find such supply at your region, feed him till he's around a year old and slowly transit him to adult food. How many times a day and amount are you feeding him now? Wet food or dry food? Is he neutered already?

As the kitten grows, it needs more food.  The box or can should have recommended amounts depending on the size of your cat.

I would feed him as much as he will eat within 20 minutes.  If only a tiny portion is left over let him finish it.  I don't go by amount as each cat is different, I go by how much they eat.  Feed him 2x a day and it's not too early to transition to adult food as he is probably starting to slow down now.

Feed him more wet food then dry. Don't give too much dry as its high in carbohydrates and your boy is neutered. He'll be less active + carbohydrates = fat and make sure he drinks enough water.

I've been keeping an eye on his eating... He will only eat one style of food tabbytom tabbytom and of course had to be the most expensive style of the brand he's choosen to eat...
He's so fussy with his food...

I'm lucky, my new sofa is a corner sofa...
I have space for both him an me to curl up on it now... We proved that earlier on today tabbytom tabbytom
He loves it when I rest my head on him but won't cuddle up...

He keeps rushing his food still an now it both biscuits an wet... Not sure if he's just being a massive pig or what...

January let us carry him and that's the only time he snuggles up, but he won't like climb up next to you while you are sitting or lying down. Except only when he is hungry, then'll he'll come right up to us or when time for bed in the night :lol3:
Usually we snuggle up to him and hug him [emoji]10084[/emoji]️
