my cat had poo stuck in his hair around his bum, he's been licking it all day and i though i would help by washing his bum. ive done this before, but this time after i bathed him quite unsuccessfully i offered him a treat.. this is when it gets strange, he leans over to eat it and his lips or teeth touch it he meows and pulls his head away, so i though his bum is wet he doesn't want to lean over that far so i held it in my hand and the exact same thing happened. i put him on his tree (his favorite spot to eat his treats) and tried again still the same reaction, so as one last attempt i tried his absolute favorite thing to eat... wet food. and still the same reaction and then he just walked away. so i am really very worried. and help would be very much appreciated

Welcome to the Catsite @montgomery :wavey:

Is your cat a long hair cat? If it is, you can shave off some fur at his bum so that when he poos, the poop won't get stuck to the fur.
Does he eat his treats immediately each time you give him? Was the food cold? Did you try again later?

Thank you tabbytom tabbytom

Yes he is a very long haired flufft cat,I might have to take him to the groomers or vet to get that done as I like my arms attached to my body haha.
Yes he always always eats his treats right away. Same with his wet food. He has access to dry food all day and gets an 8th of a can morning and night and is always very excited to get that. I slightly warm it up running the can under warm water and I add water to his food because I'm worried about keeping him hydrated in the summer heat.
He did finally eat one treat after about 6 hours and half an hour of coaxing but then he wouldn't eat again until about another 3 hours after that for a total of 9 hour when he got his dinner but I had to sit on the floor and feed him from a spoon.
I also forgot to mention he growls when he pulls his head away and he keeps his mouth open and moves his tongue.he also is licking his lips a lot

Ok, but better just monitor his eating. If you feel that something is not right on how he is eating, better have him checked by the vet.
