My boyfriend's cat dashed out the door 7/29/16 in the morning. She does have all claws and is microchipped. Flyers have been put up all over the neighborhood and given to anyone walking dogs in the area.

She was still close by the night she went missing. I startled her from the bushes right out front when I got home. Since then she was seen in the neighborhood a time or two within that week. It has been over a week since the last sighting.

We've done a ton of things to try to get her back - we have 4 humane traps set, we've left windows open scent, put things of ours/hers outside including littler box, gone on walks at all hours looking for her etc.

We had gotten tips from some neighbors that there is a lady who feeds neighborhood cats a couple blocks from where my boyfriend lives. The lady does seem like the cliché crazy cat lady - "private property" signs, signs that the property is under surveillance 24/7 and some other indicators that this lady may not be the easiest person to work with. We think if our Wendy went anywhere, she may have come to this location searching for food. We did hear that one of the other neighbors found their missing cat down by this lady's house. On searching the area several nights we have seen multiple cats in the area. But we can't get a good view in to this lady's yard, but neighbors say she has a set up for these cats..I'm not sure how they know.

We are hoping to spot Wendy one of these nights in this area, but does anyone have a suggestion as to what we do if that does happen?

There is a vacant house 2 doors down from this lady. I suppose it could be a place for us to set up the humane traps and see what we get. We do have connection to a rescue who says they will neuter/spay any other cats we catch at no cost. I also asked them if the cats we catch would be checked for a chip...it would be nice if we could provide someone with a happy ending to their missing kitty story.

Will trapping other cats in this vacant yard scare others away? Anyone with trapping experience know? I could use some advice on any/all of this situation if possible.

I would talk to the lady. If she is feeding neighborhood cats, she obviously likes cats and will be sympathetic to anyone trying to find a lost one. Per definition, people who like cats are sane, intelligent, and helpful.

I'd print a picture of Wendy and show it to her.

If you happen to spot Wendy, I'd have a can of food ready, call her and open the food. Have a carrier ready to stuff her in.

Also, setting up traps and spaying/neutering anything you catch is always a good idea
I'd use Wendy's favorite smelly food as bait.

Trapping cats doesn't scare away others, not for long, and not if those others haven't ever been in a trap themselves. Just don't let them sit in the trap too long - put food in at dusk, for example, and check at least every half hour. Have a blanket ready to cover the trap if you caught someone else than Wendy, they'll be scared.

Good luck!
