I hope everyone had a good weekend! It's still really hot here; but we've got to be getting closer to the season change! I've been breaking the rules and watering my gardens after dark. In the dark; with a flashlight.
Some of the last few nights it hasn't gotten out of the 80s! We've been staying inside in the air conditioning as much as possible! My DD has gotten sick twice in the last week; the morning after we had been out in the heat the day before. I felt so bad; I had to take Mooch to the vet in this heat too. Fortunately her carrier sits on the front seat so she can feel the air too.
How tall are you? Are you similar in height to your family members?
I am 5'5". I'm in the middle of all my family members height wise. Mom is shorter; Dad is taller. My Dad had to have gotten his height (just over 6') from his father. My Grandmother is about 5'1". From looking at old family photos I realized my Great-Grandparents were both about the same height as my Grandma! Her sisters were all about the same height too. Only one brother was taller; but still not tall for a man by today's standards. I don't think any of the cousin's from that side qualify as short either. So my guess is that improve nutrition in our childhoods has helped us grow taller. My Great-Grandparents were immigrants and they worked hard but lived fairly comfortably once they came to the States. But they also had a large family to care for.
On the other side of my family I'm close to the average. My Mom is the shortest and a few people are close to or over 6'; but most of us are in the 5'5" to 58" range. I don't see any generational differences in height on that side like I do on my Dad's.
I'm fully expecting my own kids to outgrow me though. They both get mistaken for being older than they are.
DD is in the 90/95th percentile for height for her age.
She's going to be taller than the boys for a long time.
Good!
