Hi. I thought it would be nice to give our beloved cats who have crossed the rainbow bridge a celebration of their lives here by posting one or two of their best pictures and including a paragraph (or essay if you would like) of what made them unique and special. They all had their unique purrsonalities and they were all very special. So I'll start.

Spotty was a beautiful sweetheart with Raven black and snow white fur and big yellow-green eyes. Many cats don't like to be picked up but Spotty loved it. He loved to be held for long periods of time and when I held him he leaned into me and purred. In fact he wanted my attention all the time. He wasn't independent. He often gave me head butts and insisted on sleeping next to my head every night. He was friendly to anyone who was not a veterinarian. He hated vets. He hissed and growled at them but only because he was scared. Spotty never had a mean bone in his body. Spotty was brave in other ways. He was not afraid of the vacuum cleaner at all and he sometimes walked close to it. There was one time I had a party in my kitchen and there were a lot of people and someone brought a beach chair. My other cat Rosie was hiding but not Spotty. He jumped into the beach chair among all these people as if to say "Hey, what's up!" Spotty was sweet, brave, cuddly, and very affectionate. I miss you Spotty.

Thank you for your tribute to Spotty, he sounds like a wonderful little sweetheart!

My Chrissy was my soulmate. She was a tiny 'brown tiger' tabby with the biggest gold eyes that prompted me to call her 'owl eyes'. She had a low stimulation threshold and wouldn't allow much stroking by anyone but me, She would lay on my lap, stretched out as only cats can down the length of my legs, and I would stare into her eyes and trace the 'M' on her forehead. My husband always commented "Chrissy's going 10 feet long!" Her skin and the bottoms of her paws were coal black and she had distinctive 'ringed' hairs that tabby's possess. She followed me every where.  She was ten years old going on a hundred, she was so wise and full of joy and loved to try to give me the slip when I took her outside. She always showed up when I was panicking, with that look of "what's all the excitement about?" She had her special pouched food that she would not share, but was friends with Burt, who she grew up with. She slept on her heated bed during the day, and had a special place on the bed that also was heated, she definitely was spoiled and a princess over all the boys. She had 'attitude' and was not afraid of anything, a dog in the yard sent the boys running away and her towards the stranger, full of stand up hair and claws.

The day she followed me across the street and I did not know it, was the day a part of me died too with her on that pavement.  I will always grieve over losing that precious girl, I will always hold guilt over not looking back to see if anyone was following. I will always cry when I think of that last day, my heart was broken into a million pieces by someone who didn't even stop.

I miss and love you precious girl, I treasure having you in my life and will never forget those haunting eyes!

Awww, this is a good idea!  I just lost my Angel to lymphoma 6 months ago, & I miss him so much. I have SO many pictures of him. Let me see what I can narrow it down to.

This one, even though just half a face, it's such a good close up of him.  The third one always makes me smile, just the look on that face after a bath, boy if looks could kill! LOL!

And just one last one, to show just how sweet he was!  Giving mommy kisses!

My dear sweet Lucky succumbed to acute on chronic renal failure 9 months ago this past Friday. I still cannot believe it's already been 9 months. He was my feline soul mate and the tears are flowing just typing this. I decided to honor his memory by giving another life a forever home - we adopted Penelopy just shy of three weeks after he passed. I know a lot of folks thought she was a replacement - but trust me, there was no replacing him. With her own amazing and crazy personality. While I sat on this thought until after Sara died less than six months later, taking care of him was the reason I decided to get into animal care, and why he is the basis for the logo of my cat sitting business.

And then there's Sara. Lost her to the same thing as Lucky, albeit the circumstances around it being different. In taking care of her, I knew I had to get into animal care. There was no doubt anymore. In her case, I did not adopt another kitty. She wouldn't have wanted that.

All of these posts bring tears to my eyes. How "special" all these kitties were and obviously so very loved. I hope they are all together, playing and watching over us (the ones who live and miss them so much).
Okay, here goes my story. My "special" kitty was my Mickey. He came into my life when he was about six months old. My husband got him from a friend, after my previous kitty had passed. Mickey was a dainty little thing, had his little head sticking out of my husband's jacket. He put that little fluffball in my arms, and it was pure love. My son (who was only two at the time) named him Mickey. Mickey immediately fit right in and became a member of the family. He was shy around other people, but that was just fine with me. He loved us, especially me, and that is what was important. Mickey was my world and meant everything to me. He helped me through so much, most importantly, the passing of my Mom. I never thought I could cope with that loss, but Mickey was here to help. He needed me, and let me know with that little baby meow that he always had. He was always a healthy cat, until he just wasn't. He became ill very quickly, and was diagnosed with colon cancer. He lasted about one month from diagnosis. He passed on July 8,2014. He passed naturally at home in my arms, and is now buried in my front garden. I will NEVER forget that devastating night. Mickey took a huge piece of my heart with him the night he left me. It has been two years now, and I am still mourning his loss. I know I always will. I lost four kitties before him, and I do love and miss them all. Mickey was just different though. Maybe because he helped me cope with my biggest loss. He was just so "SPECIAL"!!
I have adopted two kitties since I lost my Mickey. I love both Shadow and Mittens with all my heart, and I know they love me. They are helping me to heal. They are not a replacement for my Mickey. NEVER! They have their own special place in my heart, just like my Mickey does. I have enough love in my heart for all my kitties, both past and present!

My Sweet Mickey!
I will love and miss you always!

Your post totally made me cry. That's how I feel about Spotty. He's not replaceable. Bonding with my other kitty Rosie is helping me to heal. She's at least 14 years old too but I hope I'll have her for at least a few more years. She still seems very healthy. After her I'll be heartbroken again because she is not replaceable either. And then I'll get more kitties. That's how it goes.

How many years did you have Mickey?

M moggiegirl You are so right!
Our "special" kitties are not replaceable. They were special for a reason and will never be forgotten. It does help the healing process in having another kitty. I was so lonely without one. I just melt when they look up at you with their great big eyes and meow. Whether they are trying to say I love you or I am hungry or please pet me, I know they need me and I guess I need that.
Your Spotty was such a sweet looking kitty, truly a beauty. I know how much it hurts missing him.
Yes, Rosie will help you heal. She loves you and needs you. Knowing that can help so much! I hope you have many, many more years with your sweet Rosie.
I got my Mickey in January of 2002, vet said he was about 6 months old then. Vet gave him a birthday of July 4th. He passed on July 8th of 2014. So, he was with me about 12 and a half years. He would have turned 15 years old this past July and he also passed in July,4 days after his birthday.
I hope your Spotty and my Mickey are happy and playing together, knowing how much they are both missed!

Thank You Kelly for commenting on my Mickey.
Yes, he was very sweet, just like your Angel.
My avatar picture is of Mickey with my son.
Thinking of changing it to just Mickey, so one can see his cute face.
