Hello, welcome to the weekend.

What kind of shoes do you wear in the summer?

I love strappy sandals, but because I do a lot of walking and there aren't any paved roads around here I rarely get to wear them. Most days I wear light weight running shoes. My sandals only get worn on special occasions.

I also go barefoot a lot, but only indoors or out on the deck. Too many scary bugs to go barefoot in the garden.

How about you?

I go barefoot in the house, or with a soft pair of slippers or just plain socks.

In the summer, it depends. I have sandals, I have flip-flops, and I have an open sandal with just one strap across the foot.

I feel more comfortable barefoot or with the least on my feet. They do get cold, so that is when the socks or slippers go on.

Sneakers are only for the gym--no where else.

I only wear sneakers. I like my feet covered and supported. I hate sandals, flip flops, et al.

I wear tennis shoe and rarely wear flip flops. I don't like my feet. For a woman I feel they are huge. I am a size 11. Its hard to find something cute in that size.

I wear my walking shoes when we walk every morning. Then I wear some well supported sandals, the kind with the strap behind the heel. The reason is I was wearing slip on Crocs with little support when I broke my toe. I only wear them for shower shoes now. :lol3:

I should be wearing my running sneakers per my orthopedist, unfortunately, it's been way too hot and humid.  They are comfortable but too hot, heavy and sweaty with socks.  And no point without them.

I've been wearing my Birkenstock sandals instead.  I have several pairs.  They don't support my foot as well as I'd like although they are super comfortable.  Once the weather cools down again I'll go back to the sneakers.

At home, outside and in I'm usually barefoot no matter the season.  I hate having my feet confined.

at work is steel toed boots. i wear them so much now that i prefer them. i trip  over things often so i prefer my feet protected.

i wont wear sneakers if i am working on anything heavy or lifting. i had a pallet jack run over my big toe and broke the nail on it-it hurt so bad that i just prefer steel toed boots.

sneakers at the gym.

i have wide feet and i am clumsy. i dont enjoy shoes. i go barefoot in the house and outside. i like the feel of the grass on my feet plus it builds up my skin but it does hurt walking on stones. i have pavers laid out in certain places so i can still access the gardens/lawn.

otherwise i have these crocks i wear in and out the house like grocery carrying and my feet are hot all the time so i hate socks and shoes. i am the kind that pulls my shoes and socks off asap when i get in the house.

Always barefoot inside. (No shoes in the house rule),
Since I have a cleaning business, I wear sneakers during the week for work. Other than that, it's to hot here, so it's flip flops, I have about 3 different pair, or cute flats, depending on what I'm wearing. & Where I'm going. If I'm dressed up, I usually wear heals. Strappy ones in the summer.

I wear flip flops if I'm just taking the dog out or something. I wear my sandals most places though. They are hiking sandals and very comfy.

I like good sturdy sandals. Born seems to usually have the kind that I like. In the house I wear an old pair of backless Borns (fuzzy slippers in the winter), for going somewhere I have a newer (nicer) pair that have a back strap. I can't wear sandals at work so I wear Keen hiking shoes in the summer and Keen hiking boots in the winter. I think almost all of my shoes are Borns or Keens :tongue2:. I don't like wearing enclosed shoes so as soon as I get home I take them off. I also hate wearing socks, especially when I sleep, so that doesn't really work out in the winter :/.

i also have a 'no outdoors shoes inside the house' rule.

during the summer months, i'll wear flip flops indoors and deck shoes outdoors -- will be buying a pair of Pathfinder hiking shoes from LL Bean for next year, my feet were in heaven when i tried these on. for working outdoors in the yard or with the firewood, i wear work boots.

I've been lusting after a pair of Birkenstocks. Are they worth the money? They have some really nice ones in my local shoe shop but they start at around $80 a pair.

My no-shoes-in-the house rule is enforced after I've carefully vacuumed. Stepping barefoot into a pile of mouse guts is not an experience I intend to repeat.

I always wear ugg-type sheepskin boots (from lesser known, cheaper brands though ;) )- bloody reynauds :lol3:

The only exception is the stables, where I wear riding boots/yard boots....for obvious reasons!

I'm always barefoot inside the house too.  My favorite summer sandals are a pair of A2 flip flops from Areosole. They are comfortable and look nice too.  I tend to wear crocs; either the clog style or flip flops, around my backyard.  They are easy to rinse off when they get dirty.

I was brought up to take my shoes off as soon as I get into the house. I still do that. Love going barefoot.

If you are looking at LL Bean for a pair of shoe boots, please try out the "Snow Sneakers". I bought a pair about 6 years ago, and I practically live in there during the winter. I go the ankle high shoe-boots. They are awesome!! Warm, snow proof, comfortable....when I bought them, the salesperson was raving about them. They really grip well also....Great investment. I have only had to replace the laces.. When these wear out, I will definitely replace them with a new pair of the same.

Only thing, it is kind of a pain to lace them just before I go out, and come in, so I put a small chair and a rug at the door--I hate having the sand and ice melt in the house.

They are SO worth it.

First, they truly are comfortable.  I found that I was able to wear them immediately without any wearing in period.

They will eventually mold to the shape of your foot bed, so they cradle your foot nicely.  Very good stability.

If you happen to get caught in rain with them on, they will dry out super fast.  Like, within an hour or less I've found.

The foot bed and soles are replaceable. They last FOREVER - I have pairs that are easily 15 years old (just finally tossed 1 pair).  You can send it back to Birkenstock and they will be able to put new ones on. Much less expensive than buying a new pair.  I've never had the straps wear out or down. The only reason I tossed one pair was they just got to a point where they looked too old.

My favorite pair had burnished gold leather straps.  A bit fancier than the usual.  I still have those too.

Just make sure you buy the original shoe - I can't vouch for the other ones they sell (Birken-Flor?).  Although I'm sure they are equally good.

I have a couple pairs of Brooks GTS sneakers for hitting the treadmill and I switch off every morning.

Sandals the rest of the time. Some pairs have heels, some are fairly flat. I have the most awesome pair of red sandals that are wonderful with a pair of jeans on casual Fridays!
